Falah's Point of View
*******
I wake up and sit up in the back of Drew's car. I look into the front seat and see Arabella is awake. Good I can explain what happened last night now. I see Arabella turn to look at me and see she is smiling.
"We are going to Scotland." She says to me. I can't help but smile back.
"Yes, we are" I say with a slight laugh.
"What do you think about going through Fae?" Drew asks looking at me in the rearview mirror.
"Wait, how do we travel through Fae to Scotland?" Arabella asks in surprise. I laugh and begin explaining.
"There are portals located all around the world. As guardians were allowed in or out all we want, so long as we don't break the rules. We cannot bring things back with us that we would not have been able to get here. We can't go there just to get free stuff because we don't also live and work there. Though when we go through you always end up with a lot of stuff but most of the time we must give it to someone else before we come back out to this world." I pause and turn to Drew. "How long till we are there Drew?" I ask.
"About 2 hours." He responds.
"Okay, so anyways we will go into the Fae world at the Searen Portal. Their named by where they are in Fae, not here" I say explaining the weird name when she gives me a questioning look. "It will be a lot safer to travel through Fae because Rebels can't get through the portals, Only registered Guardians can go through, and to be registered, well let's just say it is a really long intense process." That is when I realize she isn't registered. "Drew." I say slowly. "She isn't registered, how is she supposed to get through the portals?"
"I'm hoping news will have spread about what happened at the Sanctuary, I sent out a message before we left, they will have found it before we reached my house last night." He says. "They will know about Arabella, Marcus had to have reported her as soon as he suspected what she is." he says not so convincingly.
"I hope your right Drew" I say before turning back to Arabella. "so if we can get you in Fae will be a safe place to travel through. We will go from this portal to one that comes out here where the council is in Scotland." I say simply.
"Just that simple?" Arabella says. "We can just waltz through Fae and come out in Scotland, perfectly safe?"
"Fae is protected by much magic." I say. "It is the safest place for any creature to exist"
Arabella turns back towards the front and sits looking out the window. I can't tell what she is thinking but I can tell that Drew is worried. I can see it in the way he clenches his jaw and he has both hands on the steering wheel, he never does that.
"Tell us what happened at the Sanctuary last night" Drew says. I take a deep breath and think about where I should start.
"Well after you left we all just kinda hung out waiting for you to come back. Marcus was in his office, Casey and Breanna in the training room and Tammy, Meriah and I were in the library looking for more info on hyper guardians. I was up on the top floor and Tammy and Meriah were looking through the bottom floor. I was walking past the west wall windows when I saw something. I looked out and saw tons of guardians flying low and fast towards the Sanctuary, as they got closer I saw they carried weapons and their clothes were torn and ragged, I realized they were not there friendly, so I ran to the rail at the top of the stairs and yelled down to Tammy that there were a ton of guardians coming, and that they were not friendly, she yelled back at me to go tell Casey and Breanna and her and Meriah would go for Marcus, I took off, using the back entrance for the library and ran towards the training room. I heard the moment the Rebels got to the door, they busted through it and I heard them spread out through the building, I turned down a side passage to try an make it to the training room through the back so I could avoid meeting any of the newly arrived guests."
"Wait, what's the training room?" Arabella asks, interrupting me.
"It's where we keep all of our training weapons and where we learn to use them" I explain quickly. "Anyways, I turned out into the hall where the door for the training room is at and run straight into someone, she grabbed for me and I twisted out of her hold and swing my leg out behind me hitting her in the back of the knees, she fell onto her knees and as she turned to get up I grabbed a picture off the wall and whacked her in the head with it. She fell forward and I didn't wait for her to get up. I ran for the training room right as the door opened and Casey and Breanna fell forward out of it, their hands were tied behind them and I saw a lot of those other people come out behind them, Breanna saw me first and yelled at me to run, I knew I couldn't help them by myself so I turned and took off to try and find Marcus, Tammy, and Meriah. I found them as I reached the East wall and looked outside, they were tied and on their knees in the front lawn. I was in one of the small back hallways and could hear the people looking for me. They knew I was there. I watched them outside and saw as they brought Casey and Breanna out and pushed them onto the ground next to the others. I could see the man who I'm now guessing is Pennington talking to them and gesturing toward the building, he seemed mad, then he said something to his followers and they lit torches and came into the building. I realized then I had to get out now. I turned and ran for the escape tunnels, the hallways began to fill with smoke and as I turned down the back hallway fire was between me and the way out. Now I am fire gifted, but that was way over my head. I turned into a side room and shut the door behind me, Going to the far side I tried to keep the fire off of me as long as I could, but the building began to collapse around me and at some point I blacked out. The next thing I knew I was with you guys, and Arabella saved my life." as I finish I look at them and can see Drew now looks really mad, and Arabella looks scared.
"My dad did that." I barely hear her say. I see Drew look over to her.
"You'll be okay Bella" he says. "I won't let anyone hurt you." I can tell from the way he says it that this girl means a lot more to him than he has told anyone.
