I walk out of the bathroom hesitantly. I can barely think straight, another Hyper. I stand in the hall a moment composing myself before walking back into the diner. As I slide back into the seat next to Falah she turns to me.

"So? Where is Arabella?" She asks, without a trace of worry.

"Talking to someone like her," I say emphasizing the like and her in the sentence. Her eyebrows come together in confusion and she turns completely around to face me.

"What?" She says in a fierce whisper.

"That boy that works here," I say quietly. "He is like her. A Hyper." I look down the counter to Cristine, and for the first time take notice of the sweater she wears, i quickly scan the room and see so does her husband and the other two kids.

"Are you serious?" She asks me.

"Yes, completely, I saw his wings myself," I say, still looking over at Cristine.

"What?" I hear a fierce whisper behind me, but unless  Falah turned into a guy in the last ten seconds the voice does not belong to her. I quickly spin to see the older boy standing behind Falah, she is staring back at him with wide eyes. He runs his eyes along both of us and I feel like he can see right through me.

"Come with me please." He says through gritted teeth. I wonder where the heck he came from and what exactly he heard me say. Falah and I lock eyes and I slide off my stool and nod to the boy. If nothing else I need to give Arabella time to get info out of that boy. Falah falls in step with me and we follow the boy to the back and up a staircase, I hadn't noticed before. Its well lit and has a comfortable feel to it. Arabella said she could trust that boy, I hope it holds true for the rest of the family.

He turns and opens the first door to the right of the top of the staircase.

"Make yourself comfortable, please wait here," he says before turning and walking out of the room. He leaves the door open behind him and I hear him make his way back downstairs. We could easily leave if we wanted to, but I don't. I want to know who these people are. I turn to Falah and see her looking at me with raised eyebrows.

"What now?" She asks.

"We wait," I say. "I wanna talk to them, I saw the younger boy, and I think they are all like us."

"What makes you think that?" She asks.

"Well it's not exactly cold in here and every one of them is wearing a sweater," I say. Her face turns into the ohhh why didn't I see that face. I hear a couple people coming up the steps and turn to the door. I see Cristine walk in followed by the boy and girl.

"Hello dears," Cristine says'"I hear one of you may have seen something?" She says in a friendly manner.

I clear my throat. "Yes, we know what you are," I say.

"Oh, really? And what might that be?" She says. I realize then she doesn't know what we are, that we are like her. I think about this for a minute, I could play the I think their fallen angels type thing or I could tell her we are like them. I decide on the later, truth is better.

"You're like us," I say and pull my sweater off over my head. I see surprise fill all three of their faces as my wings spread behind me. Cristine quickly turns and closes the door behind her before turning back to me.

"What section are you from? And where is your Leader? You shouldn't be out on your own as a young Guardian." She says. I can hear the mother in her as she immediately becomes worried.

"Our Sanctuary was torn apart by the rebels, and the others in our group taken captive. Except for the three of us." I say.

"Where are you headed?" She asks me.

"The council, we need to get Arabella there," I say.

"Why? Why her specifically?" Christina asks.

"She's a Hyper," I say. "And she just got her wings yesterday," I explain. I look at her face and see worry, no fear cross her features.

"What's wrong?" I ask her suddenly concerned.

"You cannot take her to the council. They will kill her." She says in a whisper. I don't understand, kill her? What is she talking about? She must see the confusion on my face because she continues.

"During the attack from the rebels, they decided that all Hyper guardians are just too much of a risk because how much power they have. They were scared by the thought of anyone being strong enough to overpower them, so they tried to eradicate them. If you take Arabella to them, they will kill her. " She says.

"If this is so secret how do you know?" Falah asks.  Christina turns to look at her and I can see the determined set of her jawbone.

"I know because they killed my brother." She says in a very quiet, but steady voice. I look at the two standing behind her and can tell that this is news to them too. They haven't heard about it before either. I look at Falah and then back to Cristine.

"I won't make you stay here, you are free to go if you wish, I just ask that you inform Arabella and that you all at least consider what I have said, and please, do not take her to the council." She says her voice sounds almost tired, but I realize it's not tired, it's thick with worry. "I just ask that you do not let Ty know that what he is, is unusual, he doesn't know, and it will only put him in danger if he does."

"I will go and tell Arabella now," I say "Come on Falah, let's go," I say and move towards the door. I hear Falah follow and pause at the door and turn back to Cristine. "I'll let you know what we decide, either way," I say. She deserves at least that much for her worry.

We walk down the stairs and I make my way back to the bathroom where I left Arabella. I knock on the door and speak.

"Arabella, It's me, Falah and I need to speak to you, can you let us in?" I hear steps toward the door and the lock clicks open before the door swings open.

I walk in and Arabella closes the door behind Falah. I take a good look at the boy standing here in front of me.
