LUKE'S POV

I woke up at 6 am to Ivy's mom pulling in the driveway. I got out of bed and opened the door for her but I didn't say a thing. On the way back to my room I peeked in Ivy's room. She wasn't there. I grabbed my phone and texted her asking where she was.

Suddenly, last night flooded back into my head. She's gone. She left. She didn't even say goodbye.

I ran back out to the living room and luckily her mom was still out there.
"Did she..." I asked not able to say anymore.

"Yes. She's on the plane headed to Louisiana as we speak. I'm sorry honey, but I want you to know she does love you."

"If she loved me would have atleast said goodbye," I retorted. I was angry. I wanted to punch, kick and scream. She left.
I went to my room, grabbed my gun and went straight to the bus.
"Take me to the nearest firing range," I told my bus driver who has been sleeping in the bus.
He grumpily stood up and went to the drivers seat while I laid on my bed. I wanted to cry. Man up luke! I thought to myself.

*** at the range***

I bought the bullets and went to the back. I loaded, aimed and fired. I emptied the box of ammo that I just bought before I was calm. I felt a tear slip. I quickly wiped it away. I still can't believe this is happening. Is this just a sick joke? I didn't know what else to do so I hit my knees right then and there.

Jesus, please help me. Help me understand why this is happening. I'm so confused. Why would she did this? Why didn't I fight for her? Why am I not going after her?

Because it's pointless. That was the conclusion I came to. I knew Rae could not be talked out of anything once her mind was set. She was too stubborn.
