Hi there, reader! My name's Nightwing, Nightwing Swope! In Writer's Night Live, I will occasionally publish incomplete works/developing ideas that will (most likely) never be finished late in the night. Then, anyone who reads this is welcome to evaluate my idea(s) featured here and expand/add to it by messaging me or commenting below! Got it? Got it.

(PS: PLEASE don't copy these ideas and take them as your own. I worked really hard on these, and I intend to use them some day. Thanks! However, taking my ideas just for inspiration is fine. I glad you're inspired. :) )

Well, I had this random thought in my study hall hit me one day - What if Alice in Wonderland took place in a masquerade setting?

Like, it starts out into the ballroom with Alice walking into the room, visiting with other socialites and just have a fun time. They all wear masquerade masks in all kinds of colors, Alice's being blue. Soft, quiet violin/piano music is playing in the background, and people are dancing in the center and excited chatter fills the room. All of a sudden, she notices a poised, sophisticated man on the other side of the ballroom with a white rabbit masquerade mask, winding a small pocketwatch.

Curious, Alice tries to go and talk to the man. A whirl of skirts, however, flies through and interrupts her path, and then a crowd of people comes in to cross to the other side. Once all of this clears, the man in the rabbit mask is gone. Alice then goes on a little adventure through the halls and paths inside and outside of the ballroom, meeting each of the "characters" in their respective masquerade masks and attire along the way.

In the very end, however, it is revealed that Alice had come back to the ballroom just in time to be commended as a guest of honor, and the guests, including the "characters", dance the night away as the night continues.

Notes:

** The settings will be in ballrooms (including the one the film starts in), a garden, another garden full of rosebushes, a garden or ballroom with a fountain in it, a terrace/balcony of some sort, and maybe other rooms can be incorporated as well.

** Alice can be portrayed by any ethnicity, however there must be a good indication of the character, such as a big, blue ribbon or blonde highlights. (Like when the viewer is first introduced to Alice when she comes into the ballroom, they'll know "Ah yes! That's definitely Alice from Alice in Wonderland!!")

** The characters ages should be teens/young adults, but they can be played by actors/actresses of any age. There's not too much room for old people or young children, but if they cannot be accommodated they can easily play extras with masquerade masks and some fancy clothing.

** The scene with the "Mad Hatter" and his tea party friends should be held in the ballroom/garden with the fountain in it. There may be a table with tea party things on top.

** Each of the characters should have a dance with Alice, especially the "Mad Hatter", the "March Hare", the "Caterpillar" and the "Cheshire Cat". If they do not dance, they should be approached or encountered by Alice instead.

** The "Roses" and the other "flower" ladies will be encountered in the garden (not the one with the rose bushes)

**It would be funny to see the "Mother Bird" come in when Alice accidentally bumps into one of the children running around at the ball.

** The "Eat Me" treats would be petit four cakes, and the "Drink Me" drinks would be offered through fancy glasses (i.e. wine glasses). They can be found in the gardens, or even offered through the butlers walking around with hor d'oeurves.

** The doorknob would be on one of the doors, rather than have someone dress up as the character (That would be funny though) and the flamingo-hedgehog croquet with the Queen of Hearts would be just a regular game of croquet.

** Please, please, this rendition of the Alice in Wonderland story is not in any way steampunk. I would prefer for this rendition to have a Victorian flair, rather than steampunk/mechanical whatsoever. I respect the steampunk Alice in Wonderland theme, but I do not  want to copy that idea at all. Plus, steampunk can get old and/or carried away at times in my opinion. If you do not know what I mean, Google "steampunk alice in wonderland" or something along the lines of that, and know that is not what I would want this to turn out to be.

Reasons Why I'm Scrapping this Script Idea:

**Not enough resources

**I have no idea where to find actors

**My area doesn't have any good locations to film in any of these settings, even if I make my own sets it's too costly and too small to fit the characters.

**My area has like no actors in general...well there are some stage actors but that's very different from film/movie actors

**To add to "my area is way too small" and the "lack of resources", it would be hard to find the materials to make the costumes and props. I would have to travel to the nearest city to obtain them, which is about an hour and a half from where I am.

**I could ask friends but they either live too far away or are not interested in making movies or acting whatsoever. Plus, many of them are EXTREMELY camera-shy!

**The movie release of Alice Through the Looking Glass (which I'm very excited to see!)

**I think we have too many Alice in Wonderland variations as it is, and we should take time to appreciate those first!

So, yeah, that is one of the crazy ideas I have to offer for a possible short film!! Readers, feel free to comment and add to this idea!!
