"I'm gonna go. But thanks for helping me. You're the best." Mark smiled before letting go out of the hug. "I thought I was the best!" Sean's accent rang out." Mark laughed, "You're the best too Sean!"They laughed before Mark said a final goodbye and walked out of the apartment. "Fuck it." Sydney sighed before grabbing her keys and walking to her car. "Where are you going?" Sean called out the front door. "Somewhere!" She hollered back before slamming her car door and revving the engine up. She arrived at the place that was so familiar to her. She walked up the stairs before pounding her fist on the door, "Open the fucking door Pandora Rose!"
"What do you want?! Get in here!" Pandora opened the door wider so Sydney could come in.
"What the hell has been going on?" That was the first thing that left Sydneys mouth once the door shut behind her. "What do you mean?!" Pandora shouted back, "Nothing is going on!"
"You're being distant, Pandora." Sydney screeched. "No I'm not!" She argued back. "You're in fucking denial." Sydney hummed before continuing, "Your fucking boyfriend was at my house because he's worried about you!"
"He-he was?" She asked quietly. "He was." Sydney confirmed, her arms folding over her chest. "So you better tell me what the fuck is going on before I start making assumptions."
"Nothing is going on Sydney!" She shouted at her best friend. "You're distant. You're gone most of the day. And it started after Michael got here." Sydney started, her words getting meaner as she spoke. "Are you cheating on Mark? You fucking are, aren't you?"
"You honestly think I'd cheat on Mark? What the hell Sydney?! You're my best friend! You know me better than anyone! Why the hell would you assume that?!" She teared up.
"If you tell me what the hell you're doing and why you've changed, I'll believe that you aren't." Sydney stated, holding her ground as she glared at Pandora with fire in her eyes. Pandora just looked toward the ground, leaving Sydneys last words lingering in the air. It was quiet for a few minutes; Sydney glaring at Pandora and Pandora just looking at the ground. "Well?" Sydney asked, an annoyed tone lacing her voice. "Are you going to answer? Or is what I'm saying true?"
"I'm not fucking cheating on him." She sighed, "I haven't and I never would. You and I both know Mark is the best thing that's ever happened to me since.. Well you know." Pandora looked at Sydney.
"Then answer my fucking questions, Pandora. Because right now, almost every sign is pointing to you cheating. No matter how bad I don't want to believe it." Sydney replied as her eyes slowly turned normal, no longer holding the glare.
"I don't know, Sydney. It's just so hectic right now; and I don't want to drag Mark into this anymore than he already is. I'm not cheating on him. I don't know how many times I have to say it; but I'm not." She started, "He almost punched Michael. I don't want that happening. As much as I hate Michael, it'll give a bad name for Mark if Michael said anything to anyone. And I don't want Mark's career to end, just because of my ex-boyfriend."
"Panda," Sydney started, her tone calming down. "He's worried. Very, very worried. I guarantee that the idea of you cheating has passed through his mind a few times. So either you tell him what's going on, or he's just going to blow it out of proportion and make things worse. You know that." She finished, staring at Pandora. "I know.." She mumbled, "but I'm not sure how. If I make it seem like I'm protecting Michael, he'll think I'm cheating. But if I don't say anything at all, he'll think I'm cheating also." She said as she sat on the couch; placing her head in the palms of her hands.
"Then explain to him. Explain that you don't want his career to be hurt over a prick who doesn't deserve it. You need to say something, or I will." Sydney stated. She raised her head from her hands, "So if I don't say anything, you're willing to put mine and Marks relationship at risk? What kind of friend does that?"
"The kind of friend who knows that if she doesn't, the relationship is already ruined." Sydney replied as she walked to the front door. "So when you make you're decision, call me."
"Sydney.. Wait.." Pandora called out. "What is it?" Sydney asked, exasperated and clearly more annoyed. "Thank you. Thank you for bringing me to the realization of maybe losing one of the most important people in my life." She gave her a small smile, "I know you're probably pissed at me now, but I thought I'd at least thank you." She mumbled.
"I am pissed.." Sydney started, "but, you're welcome." She offered a small smile back, opening the front door as she spoke.
"Sydney? What are you doing here?" Mark asked as his eyes widened. "Mark, I knew you wouldn't do it. So, I did." She whispered to him.
