Season 1, Chapter 7: Masacre

It was the day of the school dance. Jack and Anna tried to forget about what hey had saw a few nights ago. The boy with the red smile who had tried to kill them. It kept Jack up at night. At lunch, Jack noticed Toby's table was empty. He had also noticed Toby wasn't in school at all at that point. Where was he? He never missed a day, even if he was sick. The only time he went home was when he started throwing up and the teachers forced him to.

Outside, watching the school, were Toby and clockwork. They were definitely plotting something."C-c'mon, lemme a-t 'em!" Said Toby."Now now, my love, we can't rush this. We will strike when the time is right." Said clockwork. But when would the time be right? When would they get the chance to strike? That's when Toby got an idea."T-the s-school dance is t-tonight! We can a-attack then!" He said. Clockwork grinned."Excellent, that is the perfect time!" They both kissed in excitement of their new plan. Things would get bloody, and soon.

It was 6:30. The outside of the school was lit up for the dance. Floods of kids and young couples poured in, including Jack, Anna, Tim, and Liza. Even though most of the music they played at these dances were just shitty, generic pop songs, they still always had a good time. They all got out onto the dance floor and started to see more of their friends. The party was on. It was all stopped when something hit Jack from behind. He looked back, and saw it was Jared."What's the big idea!?" He yelled at Jared."Heard you were hittin' on my girl!" He replied in his big, stupid voice. Jack was dumbstruck. He hadn't hit on Kylie, nor did he want to. Then he remembered it was that stupid rumor that started up in the second floor bathroom. Jack got up and started to speak."Listen dude, I didn't hit on Kylie, so let's just back awa-" he was quickly interrupted with a swing at his jaw. Jared had just punched him in the face. Jack retaliated with full force, pushing Jared into the group of kids watching behind him. Jared got up to swing another punch at Jack, but he was stopped by soemthing. A hatchet flung through the air and cut Jared's forearm clean off. He looked at his new stub of an arm and screamed. Jack looked over at where the axe came from, but all he saw were kids running away from the middle of the dance floor. They were running from something. Or someone.

Out from the shroud of kids came.....Toby? It was Toby. Jack couldn't believe it. Toby was the one who flung the hatchet. Toby was the one who cut part of Jared's arm off. He walked past Jack, picked up the hatchet, and looked down at Jared."Don't hurt my friends, asshole." He said. Toby swung the weapon at Jared, and lodged it in his forehead. He yanked it out, and Jared fell to the ground, blood gushing from his head. Anna, Tim, and Liza were at the other end of the gym, signaling Jack to run over. Tim and Liza ran over to get him, as he wasn't really paying as much antention to them as he was to jareds dead body. They got him, and ran back over. But Liza was cut off from them as a large, flaming beam from the ceiling fell in between them. That's when they realized someone had set the building on fire. She couldn't get over."Liza, we'll find a way to get to you, I promise!" Yelled Tim. Liza nodded, fear overwhelming her face. A figure from behind her with a knife was slowly walking towards her. It was clockwork. She had a bloody knife in her right hand. Liza turned and screamed at her. She didn't expect to see a girl with a stopwatch for a left eye."So your jacks girlfriend?" Clockwork said. Liza was confused. Jacks girlfriend? That's when they all started to realize that this person, whoever she was, had mixed up her people. She thought Liza was Anna."Well then, Jack, I think it's time to leave a tear in your heart." Said clockwork as she swung her knife at Liza. But the knife was stopped by a white hand. A bleach white hand. The hand had grabbed the blunt end of the knife and threw it to the side. It was Jeff. Jack was confused. Why was the hooded boy helping them?"Come on, clocky, really? Your gonna kill this random chick? What for? cause you think the Operator will give you some special reward? Forget it!" Said Jeff. Clockwork quickly pulled another knife from out of her back pocket and frowned. Jeff's face was met with a hatchet. Toby had stabbed him. He yanked it from his face. He was surprised that the wound instantly healed itself. Jeff and Toby quickly started to swing their weapons at each other. While Jeff was distracted, clockwork ran over and tried to stab Liza, but was tackled by a pale, grey creature. The rake. The rake had her pinned down, but it wasn't enough, as clockwork through her knife at Liza's head. Time seemed to slow down. The rake got off her and tried to chase it before it reached Liza, and Jeff tried to grab it, but his hand missed. Time sped up again as the knife lodged itself into Liza's skull."NOOOOOOOOO!!!!" Yelled Tim in agony. Jeff and the rake were shocked. They had failed. Clockwork and Toby quickly ran out the emergency exit. Jeff yanked the knife out of her head, and tried to apply pressure to the wound. But it was no use. She was already dead. Tim jumped through the flames, not caring if he caught fire. He quickly picked up Liza's body and looked at her."C'mon, hun, wake up! Wake up!" He said. He dove to the ground, curled up in a ball, a cried. Jack got the fire extinguisher and put the flame out so they could walk over. Anna cried on jack's shoulder. She had just lost her best friend. Jack looked at Jeff, suddenly feeling a little more trust worthy towards him. He was shocked to look at the rake, with its pale skin and monstorous features. But he quickly got use to it."Thank you for trying to protect her." Jack said to Jeff. Jeff nodded."What the hell is going on here?" Asked Jack."Kid, you've got a whole truck load of shit that we have to catch you up on." Replied Jeff.
