The roar was louder than ever. So much adrenaline was running through my body I couldn't think right. I couldn't even figure out which way it came from. All I was waiting for now was for some bushes to start moving and a werewolf or something to slice mines and Jases throat open. But the roaring noise seemed quite far from where we were. And it sounded really loud so I assumed that whatever it was, was large.

Jase? Let's go. I whispered

Shhh. Not yet.

Jase. If we don't go now those people will catch up with us. And God knows what they will do to us.

I see. But stay low and keep a eye out for people and animals okay?

Okay.

Then there was a scream and a gun shot. It only seemed a few feet away. Me and Jase didn't stop we just ran faster. We heard bushes move and feet running behind us. Until we nearly ran off the cliff. We didn't have nowhere else to go. It was either being shot, eaten or tortured to death. I didn't want any of that. The only other way would be to jump. At least there was water at the bottom. Deep water at least. This island wasn't big enough for both predators and prey. We were going to make another run for it but we didn't, something stopped us in our tracks again. Remember that roar that I mentioned earlier? It was even closer. Like really close I think, I was looking at the creatures eyes as we speak. I had no idea what it was, because once it roared angrily again Jase grabbed my hand and he jumped, pulling me with him. I remember seeing a big black figure walking away from the edge of the cliff while I was falling to either my death or just escaped from my death.

Some time...

I remember waking up choking on the salt water. With sand on my face. When I tried to stand up, I screamed in agony. I looked down to my thigh and there was a really deep cut. I must have cut it on a sharp rock when we jumped. I saw footprints in the sand but no sign of Jase.
I sat up but couldn't stand because I was in so much pain. The sun was beaming down on me, and I quickly became dehydrated. I wondered if they some how found their way down here and took Jase. Unless he was still in the water.
I crawled my way to the trees to get out of the sun and the open. I knew the water wasn't safe to drink so I didn't bother. I could have cleaned the water but I wasn't capable of looking for firewood. I fell asleep hoping that I would see Jase by my side when I woke up.

*choking*

Hello? I said somewhat quietly

But there was no answer. I didn't hear anything after that. Eveything was silent and peaceful. I was still in pain. But as I slept, I couldn't feel it as much.
When I woke up my leg was wrapped in leaves. I couldn't feel the intense pain. When I unwrapped it, there was a scare. I was confused. How long was I asleep for? Who wrapped it? I wasn't in the same location as before. I was surrounded by trees. And I could hear a waterfall somewhere.

Your awake! A man said with enthusiasm.
