"I don't know." Siren responded as she saw him get up from his chair. Andy sat back down with his temptation to keep the conversation going. He had always seen Siren around school but he was always scared to talk to her. Andy did not know her but he knew that he wanted to meet her and make her smile for once. Siren was finally alone and now he had his chance.
"So, do you play any sports?" Andy asked trying to get Siren to talk.
"We have gone to the same schools since 2nd grade. Does it look like I play any sports?" Siren said in a harsh tone. The question had upset her. She felt the anger in her getting bigger by the second. How could he asked that question. He has been looking at her since the 2nd grade.
"Well sorry about trying to have a conversation with you. If you didn't want to talk to me you could have told me." Andy was starting to raise his voice.
"Oh sorry. Please stay." Siren said as she lowered her voice. She did not realize that he would get upset over the fact that she raised her voice.
"You know I have been observing you since the 2nd grade. Wait, I just realized how creepy that sounded coming out of my mouth." Andy blurted out. They stayed quiet for what seemed forever to the both of them. They both just sat there looking into each other's eyes.
"You have such beautiful eyes." Andy claimed after staring into Siren's light blue eyes for about three minutes. Siren had no words. She just stared at him. Her serious face changed in an instant to a smile.
"Not to sound mean or anything but I really think you should smile more. Your smile could brighten up a room if you would show it more." Andy was blurting words out. Siren still had no words but her smile did not go away. They sat there again in silence but this time it did not feel weird. This time it felt nice to be there in silence. The bell rang and they had to go to class.
"What is your next class." asked Andy
"English." Siren mumbled as if she was scared of Andy. Andy walked Siren all the way to her next class. He never noticed how many people knew who he was till that day. Everywhere they went Andy kept getting talked to. They had one minute to get to class. Everyone was running to class to try to get to class in time.
"You can go to class I don't want you to be more late then you already are." Siren mumbled hoping Andy wouldn't leave. They just stood in the middle of the hallway. All alone.
"I'll go to class as soon as you give me your phone number." Andy said with such confidence. Siren said no words. She just pulled out a black pen and wrote her phone number on his hand. She did not know what had just happened but she knew she liked it. Siren was in class when all of a sudden she got a text message. It had surprised her because Claire never texted her if she was in class. Siren looked at her phone to check what Claire wanted. As she looked at her gold iphone 6 she noticed that it was not Claire who texted her. It was Andy.
¨Hey.¨ read the text. Siren was surprised she did not know how to respond. She did not think that Andy would actually text her.
¨Hi.¨ Siren responded scared what he really wanted with her. Ten minutes had passed and no text back. Siren counted the minutes. Waiting for a text back but she did not get one. There was only five minutes left of class and still no text back. She looked at everyone in her class. They were all happy and smiling while she just sat there being embarrassed. She felt so stupid for actually expecting a text back. She thought about how stupid she is for expecting a football player to actually want to talk to her. She felt like a complete idiot staring at the black screen on her gold iphone 6.
