Chapter Two

Liam was onstage again, singing with a few of his buddies. They actually sounded pretty good, but I was still fuming and refused to listen. I played on my phone, checking out my latest social media obsession, Tumblr. A message popped up on my screen, from my best friend Lila, who had brought me here tonight.

Lila: I saw you came back in with Liam. What's that all about? Anyways, I have a test tomorrow, so I left early. See you back at the apartment!

Shoot. Now I had to let Liam give me a ride. I texted a confirmation back to her and closed my phone, putting my head in my hands. This was going to be a long, annoying night.

Half an hour later, Liam jumped down in front of me, grinning. "I see you actually followed directions this time."

"Didn't have much of a choice. My ride left me here."

Liam pouted. "But I already told you I'd take you home."

I rolled my eyes, picking up my purse. "And I already told you that I won't do what you say," I grumbled, pushing past him.

His arms wrapped around my waist, spinning me around so I was facing the chair. Liam kept me against his chest as he walked us towards the back. "You're so cute when you try to be mean. My car is in the back, love."

"Get off me, pervert."

Liam laughed, his chest rubmling against my back. He kissed my cheek. "Oh, alright, kitten." His arms dropped and I glared at him.

"And don't call me that! I'm not an animal!"

He paused beside a sleek black car, a rather expensive one. It was too dark to see the exact model, and Liam didn't give me much time to check it out before he ushered me into the passenger seat and closed the door behind me.

Twenty minutes and an awkward, tense car ride later, he pulled in front of my apartment. "I'll walk you up, love."

Liam opened my door for me again and took my hand, entwining our fingers. "No, Liam, stop," I demanded, yanking to free my hand as we walked forward. Suddenly Liam had me pressed against the wall, his dark eyes examining my face. I gasped in surprise, but froze.

"What was that, kitten?" he whispered.

I gulped thickly, shutting my eyes as his warm breath huffed on the skin of my neck. "Um... I-I..." I trailed off as his lips pressed on the corner of my jaw. "Stop, please."

"I don't think you want me to stop, baby." He sucked harshly once, making me cry out.

I laid my palms flat on his chest and pushed hard, making him stumble back. "You're a pig," I spat.

Liam laughed. "Okay, then. Give me your phone."

"No!"

He stepped towards me and I squeaked, pulling out my phone and handing it to him quickly. "Good girl."

God, I hated how he said that. He typed his number into my phone, and my number to his. "I'll talk to you later. Stay out of trouble, kitten," he said sweetly, kissing my forehead as he slipped my phone back into my hand.

I nodded slowly and turned to run into my apartment. "I have a show tomorrow night. Same place, same time. I expect you to be there!" Liam called before I was able to shut myself into my home.

Lila, who was lying on the couch in front of our TV raised a perfectly arched brow at me. "I thought you and Liam had bad history," she said.

I frowned. "We do. He forced himself on me, I swear."

"Did he call you a cat?" she asked.

"Kitten," I mocked his low, smooth, annoying voice. "I'm going to bed. After I block his number."

Lila sat up. "You got his number?!"

"Sadly." I flicked through my phone, trying to find his contact information as I raided the fridge for a water bottle.

"He must like you. Why not give him another try?"

I scoffed, tipping back the water. "Because he's a controlling jerk."

Lila sighed. "Maybe... Maybe he'd be good for you."

I gawked at her. Good for me? How was that even possible? "Why do you think that?" I asked, blocking Liam's number and then deleting his contact information.

"You and I both know you've have troubles with trust and you're always so serious about everything. I think you need someone that'll help you come down from that and that'll just have fun with you. Bring you out of your shell a bit," she explained.

I shot her a look. "We both know what kind of fun Liam wants to have with me."

Lila had to bite her lip to keep from laughing. "Alright, I'm going to bed. Night," I said, rubbing my temples.

"Nanight!"
