Daniel? (BoyXBoy)

One- Childhood /Beginning/

"Walter, why don't you and Daniel go out and play in the yard? It's so nice out today. Patty and I need to talk anyway. Okay?"

"Okay mom!"

I cheered happily. I gripped Daniels hand and we walked outside, after slipping on our shoes.

"What do you think mommy and Mrs. Sarah are talking about, Walter?"

Daniel asked, tossing a dirty baseball at me. I caught it and tossed it back before answering.

"Dunno, maybe their gonna throw us a party!"

"A party?"

Toss.

"Why?"

I shrugged.

"I dunno. Because we both did great this year in school."

He smiled from ear to ear, teeth showing. One missing.

"That's true! Maybe they will throw a party."

We both shared a laugh, and continued to toss until we where jamming our fingers. Daniel dropped the ball to the ground and nudged it gently to the side.

"Can we play with the soccer ball, Walter? My fingers hurt."

I nodded, running towards the open garage door.

"Let me go get it!"

I called back.

"I wanna join in!"

He followed me inside. I opened the old toy-trunks lid.

"So."

I started.

"When did you loose ol' joy?"

"Huh? Oh, my tooth?"

He asked, rubbing the empty spot with his tongue.

"Yeah, your tooth."

"Yesterday. Didn't cry at all!"

He announced proudly.

"Uh-huh. I bet you teared up!"

I turned around to see him grinning.

"Nu-uh! Not a single tear. Dad told me I was a big boy for it, too!"

I dropped the ball to the ground and it rolled until Daniel put his foot on it.

"Alright, lets go!"

We traveled the ball into the front yard. I marked two little goals with rocks and sticks.

"First to four?"

Daniel asked.

"We have time- lets do first to six!"

"Alright!"

We kicked around the ball and played until Daniel won. Pulling a 2:4 game.

"Nicely done, Daniel!"

My dad called as he pulled up into the drive way and hoped out.

"It was luck, dad!"

I called at him.

"Don't be a poor sport, Walter."

I stuck out my bottom lip and crossed my arms.

"Come on, Walter. You beat me in baseball every time!"
