"Walter, Rose! Dinners done!"
I stirred on my bed, slowly waking up. Daniel lay to my left, sleeping as well.
"Huh?"
I called out.
"Walter!"
My dad's voice called from down the hall.
"Ugh.. Daniel wake up."
I turned over and shook his shoulder gently.
"Come on my dad said-"
The door opened to my right and I looked past over my shoulder.
"Hi dad. I was just waking-"
"Get your faggity ass out of bed and come to dinner. Rose and I are waiting."
I stopped shaking Daniel and nodded.
"Okay dad, be down in a few."
He glared at me slightly and nodded.
"Hurry up."
I sighed and dropped back down on the bed. Closing my eyes for a second before reopening them.
"I'm glad you're asleep Daniel."
"I'm not."
His voice startled me, and I stared at him. He opened his eyes and our gazes met.
"So you hear my dad?"
"I heard your dad."
I sighed again and sat up, looking away and scratching my head.
"Why do you let him call you that?"
"He's my dad. What am I suppose to do?"
"Tell him to stop. Obviously he didn't know I was here. Or he wouldn't have said that."
"No it doesn't matter. It's just a word. Come on, let's go before he comes back and hits me or some shit."
Daniel didn't find that funny at all but I was already up and heading to the door. I felt his hand grab my upper arm.
"Walter if I move in he wont ever hurt you again."
I wanted to cry again.
"O-Okay."
Is all I could muster. He held my arm for a second longer before releasing.
"Alright let's go."
I nodded and we walked down the hall into the kitchen.
"Hello Daniel!"
Rose smiled, looking up from her full plate.
"Hi."
He smiled back and waved at her. I took a seat to her left, and Daniel sat next to me.
"Oh, hello Daniel."
My dad said, placing my plate in front of me.
"Hold on one second and I'll get you a plate."
He glared at me.
"Walter didn't tell me you where over."
"He's always over."
I sassed back. Dad just grunted in return. Once he placed his and Daniels plate down we began to eat.
"So dad. I was wondering if Daniel could move in with us? He's still in school so rent is hard to get and he's always here anyway."
"That would be fun! Another boy to practice my make up on!"
