I'm a student of Paris, Paris Tern University... just kidding, Far Eastern University - East Asia College and I was forced to take the field of Information Technology because my parents said... "touch move", oh well, I'm good at computers so why not give it a shot? but before I got here let me throw back the reason why... I entered the main campus of FEU and I said to myself... This is it, I'm going to become a great teacher and I'll lead them to the path that my great and honorable principal had shown me. So when I got in the building, I saw the office and asked where can I get the forms and when can I get started with the entrance examination, they answered... "Whenever you are ready because the examination here is free, do you like to start now ?"... I said ... "Yes sir!" ... with a smile without knowing that I'll regret it after the examination. Then here it goes, the papers are given to us and would you look at that, please shade the course that you would like to take... It took me 4 minutes, looking for the BSED but all I can see was IT and Engineers, So I got no choice but to shade the IT course. I didn't took the exams seriously because I didn't like the course so... poof! ... I passed questionably and my fate was sealed.
Continuing the story, we're 55 in the class and we're all good at computers, what I'm saying about is that we know how to turn it on and off, also assemble it and troubleshoot it but that didn't really go well because... Information Technology is all about bloody programming and networking. just before the first semester ends, our population in one section had been depleted to 23 to be exact, damn that programming subject really dropped the bomb at Hiroshima(which is us) and we're the survivors telling young ones about the struggles we tackled together.
My graduation was delayed thanks to those mathematical subjects who can't solve their own problems and since they can't, they just give it to the poor innocent students, I mean how would you solve a problem that is not yours from the start ? math has been passed down through the ages and math is old enough to solve his own problems right ? but I didn't know that this math subjects will bring me to the one that will set a flame to my soul and stir my heart so that I can write this book.
I first saw her at my computer logic subject, her blonde and long hair that sways with grace, a smile that can melt any man's heart and tame even the wildest of beasts, those braces in her teeth, her face that represents winter, oh dear nothing could go wrong and as she enter the classroom, everything stopped at that moment and not a single noise was heard when she entered the room, oh God she was so gorgeous and as she made her way to her seat, I saw those guys at the back and knew that... oh well... this is going to get tough to court with all your rivals lurking around. Right after that, the professor entered the room and as soon as she introduced herself at the class, it turned into a chaos of silent panic all of the sudden because her name rang a bell to those students who experienced the horror of her last invasion, Maribel Misola... that's what she said and she looked at us like puppies and we looked at her like a tiger, because we heard rumors that she's a fierce professor and dummies like us won't stand a chance at passing.
So yeah, the first day of the class was just utter moment of introduction and horror. For every word Mrs. Misola says, the more we grew hopeless but when I look at her again... her head was up high, it's like she's asking Mrs. Misola to bring it on because somehow I'll work things out. So after her session to us, finally she said the magic word... "Okay class, you may go" ... all of us got out of the room quietly and as we walked meters away from the room we spilled out every word that we kept deep inside of our minds. There's one common thing among what we thought, and that is "We are doomed to fail." and yeah I feel like I just wasted my parents money because I'll fail another mathematical subject... as soon as I look back, oh dear... she's behind me, our eyes met like we knew each other somewhere in the universe, just the way that she looked at me... it gave me that burning feeling with a mixture of a chill from the other side, I mean ... I can't explain it, her face is enough to melt me to the ground, but as soon as my friends tapped my shoulder saying... "Bastard! you're blocking the entrance of the elevator... get in already!" ... Oh my that saved me from turning into a statue. After that... I can't forget her face... I just can't get her out of my mind... that sweet sweet face of her, it's like she's begging me or something... I can't even ask her name but one thing is for sure, this girl will be a major factor of my whole life.
As the days pass by Mrs. Misola got us a seating arrangement to prevent you and your friends to work as a team or just to challenge that in friendship distance doesn't matter because Dela Rosa, D is in the front row while my friends are in the back because they're blessed with a last name close to the... last letters of the alphabet. So yeah I'm in front... great... I'm far from my buddies and next to me is Dela Cruz ... she'll be my seatmate for the entire term. I didn't really stare at her until I realized that... I won't survive this subject if I didn't talk to her for the entire term because we hardly know each other. In addition to that she's performing well and gets a high score whenever Mrs. Misola is giving a seatwork so... okay I'll talk to her...
"Hi, miss... can you help me with something?" ...
"don't act like I'm a little older than you haha what is it ?" ...
"What's your name ? " ...
"Yanie... Ariana is my name and my friends calls me Yanie "
... and I'm not really looking at her face ... I'm just looking at her paper and wondering how did she do that... is she a wizard or something ? but I remembered what my old man said, respect the one who you're talking too by looking at them straight as they speak... I did look... straight ...but ... is staring the same as looking straight ? I don't know for myself... but as I look at her... she's wearing glasses, that red lip taylor swift classic really caught me... that 1989 album really did numbers to me when it comes to love, this long drive of me and Yanie... could end in burning flames or paradise.
