Enlil looks surprised at Sylas, and then on his hands. He drops the knifes, which falls to the frosty autumn grass. "Those knives are your weapons, and they can also be you lifeline. Keep them sharp." Sylas looks at the rest of us. We probably look like we have seen a ghost. Enlil still looks a bit shocked, I feel sorry for him. Sylas looks at Enlil. "I'm sorry if I scared you, but in real battles your opponent won't give you any chances. It's best to learn it from the beginning." He says, and put his hand on Enlil's shoulder. "It...I just got a bit surprised." Enlil looks down at Sylas, who is a head shorter than the rest of us. Well except for me, I'm even a few centimeters shorter than Sylas. "Well you did great, for being the first time." Sylas smiles and then looks at Jay. He lifts up the sword with the golden handle. "This is your weapon, keep it sharp." He says and gives it to Jay, who takes the perfectly balanced sword and swings it with perfectly controlled movements. "You four should get some rest now. Tomorrow, I will take you to the market and teach you how to survive in this time." With those words, Sylas goes to the veranda and sits down to read a pile of papers. "I'm gonna take Raven for a walk." I start walking to the stable, where Raven, Zephyr, Misty, and Flame are. They probably sleep, or play with each other.

"Wait!" I turn around and see Jay coming after me. "Come on! You can run faster!" I start running when Jay runs past me. "Yes, but I think you can't run faster." Jay is almost at the stable when he stumbles on a rock and falls flat on his face. When I reach Jay, I hold out my hand to help him up. "Are you alright?" I look worried at him. Jay takes my hand and stands up. "I'm alright. It must have looked very funny, though. " Jay smiles at me. I can't hold back the laugher. "Yes, it looked very funny. I'm sorry, I shouldn't laugh." I get control of my laugh. Jay brushes away the dust from his knees. "Come on, we should walk to the stable now." I smile at him. "Yes, Raven probably wants to run in the forest."

The chilly autumn wind whispers thru the forest, and makes the last leafs fall down around us. I laugh when Raven tries to catch them. It's probably going to snow in a few days. The pale winter sun rises, and warms us a little on our way to the market. I look at my dress. We have changed our jeans and skirts to dresses and pants. I wear a dark green dress. Darya is wearing a sea-blue dress. Her brother, Enlil is wearing a white tunic and dark brown pants. Jay has a red tunic and brown pants. I think he is quite good looking, but I won't say it to him. Not yet. Today Sylas waked us up before the sun, which Darya didn't like. We ate a quick breakfast and then leaved. "Remember to stay out of trouble." Sylas looks at us. We nod. "You will get 20 silver pieces each, try to push down the prices as much as possible." Sylas gives a small leather bag to each of us. After just a few minutes, we come out on the main road that leads to the market. I gasp when I see the size of the market. It's like a road with tables on each side of it. Sylas stops. "Okay, we'll meet here in four hours. Don't cause any trouble, and don't be late." He says. Jay, who's sitting on Flame, holds out a hand for me. "You can ride with me, if you want." He smiles. I hesitate, again. "Come on Elissa, I can walk right beside you." Raven looks at me with his beautiful green eyes. "Okay." I take Jays hand and get up on Flame. She isn't a gigantic horse. But still, as many others, taller than me. I hold around Jay's waist, hoping that I won't fall off. "It's okay, Flame is a very kind horse." Jay touches Flame with his heels, and the horse starts walking. Actually, it's not so scary to ride. I loosen my scared grip around Jay's waist. He turn his head and smiles at me. "See, it isn't scary." I smile back. "You're right, it's actually not so scary."

We ride thru the market, and it turns out that I'm a pretty good dealer. We get half the price on almost everything we buy. Jay smiles at me. "I didn't think you could be that good at pressing down the prices." I smile back. "It's called stubbornness." Then something catches my attention. It's a dark green arm protection, perfect size. "Jay, I think I see something." I point at the table. "What do you see?" Jay looks where I'm pointing. "I see an arm protection, and now I also see a scabbard." Jay turns Flame to the table. I jump down from Flame, and almost fall. I bite my lip, but walk straight to the table. "See anything you like?" I look up and see the man behind the table. "I see this arm protection." I try to sound uninterested, as I hold up the dark green leather piece. "Ahh, so you're an archer." It doesn't sound like a question. "Training to be one." Still sound uninterested. "Well this is one of my best arm protections, and it's not cheap. But I can give you a special price." He looks completely calm. It feels like something is wrong, but it's probably just me.

After dealing with the armor table-man, I look at my dark green arm protection. Now I don't have to get hurt every time I practice my archery. Jays new bronze-looking scabbard is also really beautiful, it matches his tunic. I look at the sunny sky. "Jay, we should hurry up if we don't want to be late." There is two hours until the sun goes down, and it's winter. There's not much sun under the winter half-year. Jay touches Flame with his heels, and she starts galloping. I tighten my grip around Jays waist. "It's okay, you won't fall of." I barely hear Jay over my beating heart. "I know, but that doesn't keep me from being scared." Jay nods. We arrive at the meeting place, and Flame finally slows down. Darya and Enlil are already there, but Sylas isin't. Raven must have read my thoughts. "He was the one who decided the time, and now he's not here." I jump down from Flame and walk to Darya and Enlil, who looks worried. "Have you seen Sylas?" Darya looks at me, it looks like she's sad. "He was captured."
