Chapter five. Who we are.

Hoppas att det fortfarande är spännande. Eftersom att jag är en vikinga/medeltids nörd, kunde jag inte hålla mig till nutiden. ;)

I scream surprised. "Who are you?" Asks Jay. "My name is Sylas." Says the stranger. I look surprised at him. He is wearing a green mantle, with a big hood, which is covering his face. "What are you doing here? And why have you been stalking us?" I ask. I'm sure that he is the one I've seen in the trees. "You can feel your surroundings well. Maybe your element is earth." Says Sylas. "Wait, do you know about all this?!" Asks Jay. "Yes." Says Sylas. "Oh, okay. Nice of you to show up now, but couldn't you warned us about this earlier?!" Says Jay sarcastic. "Your element must be fire. And no, I couldn't warn you." Says Sylas and takes his hood of. He looks like he's about forty to forty five years old. His hair must have been dark brown once, but now there is some gray in it. He is quite small, but still taller than my 160cm. "You haven't answered my question: what are you doing here?" I say and try to sound brave. "I'm here to help you with your elements." Says Sylas. "How can you know about this?" Asks Jay. Sylas looks at me and Jay. "I will tell you later, we have to hurry. Are there anyone else with you?" Says Sylas. I look at Jay and he nods. "Yes, there are two more." I say. "Good, where are they?" Asks Sylas worried. Suddenly I see Darya, Enlil, and the animals. "Are you okay?!" Shouts Darya. "What happens? We heard you scream." Asks Enlil. They stop when they see Sylas. "Who is he?" Asks Enlil and looks at Sylas. "My name is Sylas, and I have to get you out of here." He says and starts walk. "Are we in danger?" Asks Enlil. Sylas turn around. "Yes, that's why you four have to come with me." He says. "I don't believe you." Says Jay suspicious. "He speaks truth." Says Enlil. "How can you be so sure?" Asks Jay. "I don't know how, I just know." Says Enlil. "We don't have time to argue." Says Sylas particularly. I look at Darya, Enlil and Jay. "Okay, we will go with you." Says Enlil. Sylas don't answer, he just starts running and we try to keep up.

After a night without sleep and food, we all are tired. And when the first sign of dawn shows, Sylas finally stops. "Okay first of all: don't panic, and second: don't look around, just keep walking. And for heavens sake: stay close to me, don't run away on your own!" He says. I was tired, but after what Sylas just said...I don't know. Raven feels my fear. "It's okay Elissa, I will be by your side." I look at Raven. "I know, thanks." I say and hug him. Sylas walks to a giant tree, and opens it. There is a door in the tree! "This is the way to my world." Says Sylas. "Wow, but how is your world?" Asks Darya. Sylas is just about to answer when we hear a sound, it sounds like a bear. When I see Sylas worried face I know what it is. "Hurry! Into the tree!" Shouts Sylas. We hesitate. "Hurry!" Says Sylas. After just a few seconds, Jay runs into the tree. Then the rest of us follows, and when I run into the tree it gets very bright. When the brightness is gone, I look around. I can see Darya, Enlil, Jay, Sylas, and all the animals. "Okay, follow me and remember: stay close." Says Sylas and starts walking to what looks like a...medieval village?

My guessing was right: it is a real medieval village! There are many people who looks surprised at us. "I can't believe this." I say and look around, trying to see everything. Then I notice Sylas look. "Stay close, and be quiet." He says sharp. "Where are we going?" Asks Darya. Sylas look around, like if he's searching for someone. "Can you all just be quiet until we get to my cabin?" He says, even sharper this time. No one speaks until a person, with a green mantle comes to us. "Hello Sylas!" Says the person. "Calhoun! Good to see that you are standing up." Says Sylas, a bit sarcastic. "Thanks, and I'm never gonna ride again." Says Calhoun and laughs. "Well it was nice to see you, but now we have to hurry." Says Sylas and we start walk again. "Who was that?" I ask. "Why do you all ask so many questions?" Says Sylas. "Because we want to know whats going on." I say. "I will tell you what's going on. But there are too many curious ears here." Says Sylas. When we finally reaches the cabin, I just stare at it. It's a small cabin in the middle of the forest, and there is a river hundred meters from the cabin. "Home sweet home." Says Sylas and walk to the door. "This is amazing." I say and look around. "Are you going to stand there all day?" Raven is already at the door. I feel the hunger when a amazing smell comes from the chimney. "I'm coming." I say and run to the door.

After the meal with rabbit stew and bread, we all sit around the table in the big room. "Okay now I'm going to tell you whats going on." Says Sylas. We four lean forward, to hear every single word. Sylas gives us a surprised look, but keeps talking. "For thousand years ago, there was a great war. It was the hundred year war, many died and whole families was lost. It seemed like no one could stop it. Until four people stepped forward to help. They where given the powers of the elements: water, air, fire, and earth. And together they ended the war. From that day there has always been four Element keepers, who can keep peace in the world." Says Sylas. "Keep peace in the world...no pressure." Says Jay. "I will help you four, I will train you and teach you how to control your powers." Says Sylas. Enlil is the one who answers. "Okay, the Element keepers are ready." He says and looks at the rest of us. Before, I had no idea of who we where. Now I know, we are the Element keepers. This is who we are.
