The next day Terra had dropped him off again at the front of the school and drove off for work. Ven walked into the campus and spotted Sora who seemed to be napping underneath a tree; Ven smirked mischievously.
He sneaked up behind the tree, enough to hear the soft snores, “BOO!”
“Ahhhhhh Ven! That wasn’t funny!” Sora gasped, clutching his heart.
Ven laughed at his new friend before helping him up and noticing the green stain on Sora’s pants, “Well looks like you’ve been here for a while, huh?”
Sora twisted his body to get a look at the mark before sighing, “Damn it, mom’s gonna kill me!”
“What about mom?” a sudden deep voice asked. Vanitas strolled over to the two boys and looked down, due to the fact that both of them were shorter than him.
“Nothing Vani. I just messed up my pants, that’s all,” Sora explained trying in vain to wipe it off with his hand.
Vanitas nodded slowly before turning to Ven, his yellow eyes scanning the boy up and down. Ventus felt the heat rise up to his face. Vanitas looked straight into his eyes with an unreadable emotion on his face, “And who is this?”
“Oh that’s my new friend, Ventus! I met him yesterday at the thing; you remember him. We were in your group!” Sora said.
“No, I didn’t pay much attention. Sorry, my name’s Vanitas…Vanitas Fair.” He said, holding out his hand.
Ven took it cautiously, his sight never leaving those golden eyes, “Ve-Ventus Hi-Hikari,” he stuttered back.
The raven haired boy nodded, “Right…well I’ll see you guys later. Oh and Ven, watch out for my bro, alright?”
Before Ven could ask Vanitas jogged off towards his friends, leaving the two to their own devices. Ventus couldn’t get his mind off of those bright eyes; they were just so captivating and how his face was just like Sora’s, except a little lighter skinned and older.
“Hey Ven your blushing,”Sora suddenly pointed out, pushing him out of his thoughts.
He clutched his face trying to hide the tint, “No I’m not!”
“Yeah you are! Is it- Is it cause of Vani, are you gay?” Sora asked, watching the boy grow redder at the mention of his brother’s name.
“I’m not gay!”
“Cause if you are you know it’s alright, right? I’m gay too.”
“What? You are?” Ven asked, still covering his cheeks.
“Yeah...that’s another reason why nobody wants to hang out with me,” he said suddenly, finally looking away from him, “No one wants to hang out with a ‘fag’ like me.”
Ven clutched his fist in anger before crushing Sora in the biggest hug he could muster, “Like I told you before you got me as a friend now! Now I’m not gay okay…so stop asking.”
Sora nodded, “But I gotta say though…you and him; would make a cute couple.”
“Shut up Sora.”
“Haha sorry. Hey I’ll race you to class!”
“You’re on!” Ven exclaimed as they ran to their first period together.
