Terra had dropped Ven off and he began making his way to the gym where a freshman orientation was being held. He entered the building to find that most of the seats were vacant, there were only three groups of freshmen and one loner. Ven stepped up to the rafter and sat next to the lonely brunette who sent him a grateful smile.

“Alright, sit down kiddos!” ordered the principal as he walked to the center of the gym, “Welcome to Twilight High! Some of you may come from the Destiny Middle School down yonder and some may be from new places all together! But what’s important is that you’re here now…so let’s get some rules down and a few introductions, before we send you off on a tour!”

The man cleared his throat and scanned through the crowd, “My name…is Principal Xigbar. I’ve been watching over this school for ten years and so far, we’ve kept a good record with the district and especially superintendent Xehanort. So I expect that you maintain our great rating.” Two more staff members walked out and stood beside the principal, one holding a large sheet and the other a clipboard, “These two are Marluxia and Xaldin. Marluxia teaches advanced math and is the vice-principal; he will handle any bullying affairs and any other problems you may have during your course here. Xaldin is the school’s top PE teacher, he also leads the sports division of the county so he will plan all the teams, matches and so forth.”

The pink-haired man holding the clipboard stepped up, “As Principal Xigbar said, I am Marluxia. I will handle any and all affairs that take place which isn’t worth Principal Xigbar’s time! Also one more thing… I’m also in charge of the grounds keepers in the school and they are my eyes. So no littering and stay out of the garden outside the main office building!”

The other man stepped up next, “All right, you call me Xaldin. Not Mr. Xaldin just Xaldin. Now that we got that out of the way; this sheet of paper I will leave outside this building for the rest of the week. Here you sign up for a sport and next week I give you the permission slip. It is mandatory you do sign up for at least two this year, but what season is up to you. Right now, since it’s autumn we have: badminton, soccer and football. We also have in-school competitions…which are athletics held next month, gymnastics held when we come back from winter break and swimming just before we leave for summer. I encourage you to sign up for these as well and I look forward to seeing you in class.”

Principal Xigbar stepped up again, “Alright, I’m going to separate you into three groups. And you will be shown around by six students from sophomore, junior and senior years. You five,” he said pointing to the group of three girls and two guys, “Will be led by our senior students which are Leon and Yuffie. Go ahead on your tour and welcome.” The group stepped out of the gym as Xigbar cleared his throat again, “The next group will be you four and you will be led by our junior students Hayner and Olette. Go ahead and good luck.” The all boy quad and the two guides stepped out. “That leaves you five; and you will be led by our sophomore students Vanitas and Xion. That’s it, go ahead and welcome.”

Ven and the brunette boy stepped down with the group of three girls and out of the gym while the two guides, talked with the principal. The girl Xion was shorter than him with black hair swaying behind her and a mysterious but upbeat attitude circling around her. The other one, Vanitas, seemed to walk around with confidence and a cliché bad-boy attitude. Ven couldn’t help but stare at him; it was an unknown feeling but he just couldn’t keep his eyes awa-

“Hiya I’m Sora by the way!” introduced the brunette boy who broke Ven out of his thoughts.

Ventus looked at the boy who was smiling brightly at him, he looked like Vanitas in a way. “Hey, my name’s Ventus but call me Ven.”

“Well nice to meet ya, Ven! Oh yeah…and thanks for si.t..tin..g..wit…h..me..” he mumbled, looking down.

Ven looked at him confused, “What was that?”

“I said thanks for sitting with me,” He quietly said, “No one does that, they say I’m too happy for them and they just stay away from me. I usually hung out with my friend Kairi but she moved last year.”

Ventus felt sorry for the boy before clamping an arm around his shoulder, “Well you’ve got me as a friend now!”

Sora grinned at him, “Thanks…say where are you from? I haven’t seen you before.”

“I moved from Radiant Garden with my family this summer. My dad got a job out here, and my mom is looking for one.”

“Oh! What does she want to do?” Sora asked as the guides stepped out and told them to follow.

“She’s a total business lady! She’s looking for a manager job out here.”

                “And your dad?”

“Well, he’s a new doctor down at Twilight Municipal.”

Sora nodded, listening intently, it wasn’t everyday somebody wanted to make friends with him, “Do you have any brothers or sisters? Are they here?”

Ven bites his lip, unsure whether to tell him or not, “Yes,” he started, “I have two but… I don’t know them.”

Sora opened his mouth obviously about to ask another question before Vanitas turned and faced them all, “All right… this here is the science wing! This is where you’ll be going for all your chemistry, physics and stuff like that! Watch out for Vexen though…creepy ass.”

A few giggles sounded through the group as they walked further into the school. Ven turned to Sora, “So what about you?”

“Well…my dad left my mom and me when I was a kid. He leaves us a check each month to get by but doesn’t really see us. My mom works the night shift at her job so I don’t see her. And I got two brothers.”

                “Are they here?”

“Yup! You saw them both already!”

                “Really? Who?”

                “Well there’s Leon.”

                Ven nodded, “And who else?”

Sora smiled brightly before pointing to Vanitas.
