Chapter Sixteen

RYDERS POV

I walked into my packs territory with a grin on my face.

“What has gotten my brother so happy?” I heard my little sister ask once I walked into our home.

I looked up at her without removing my grin. She still wore her pink pajama bottoms and a white tank. Her brown hair was in a messy bun on top of her head. “None of your business little sis.”

Katherina rolled her eyes, “I’m not even younger then you Ry.”

I laughed, “Oh yes you are by a whole seven whoppin minutes.” I grinned.

“I can still kick your ass.”

And before I could blink she jumped on me pinning me to the ground then gave me dead arm and a wet willie. “Can to.” She smiled. But then the smile faded and she sniffed the air.

“What is it?”

“I don’t know,” she paused and sniffed again then sniffed my hair and my shirt, “You smell different, um, familiar in a way. I can’t explain it,” she sniffed my shirt again, “the smell if off but its familiar.”

“Odd.” I said. What could it be the only smell I have on me is K’s and I am one hundred percent sure they have never met.

K’S POV

“Late night.” I heard Max say once I snuck into my room.

I smiled at him, “Shut up.”

“Shower.” He then chucked a towel at me, Bret needs us.

“At four in the morning?”

“Yup, I guess there’s someone we all need to go see.”

“Great.”

I took a shower, hating to wash off Ryder’s smell; I was beyond excited about seeing him in seventeen hours.

I met the guys down stairs and followed them to our car. We drove for five hours before we pulled up to this huge house. Bret, of course, didn’t tell us anything so we had no idea what we were about to walk into. All of us were on high alert, scanning the area and my hearing was on. I didn’t hear anything other than “they are hear sir.” And then I heard footsteps come down a set of stairs and out the front door, there stood a man. His suit was fancy and just looked like thousands of dollars, his glasses where goofy looking but again looked like they cost a lot. His hair was black and slicked back and his eyes, his eyes looked very familiar. They were Bret’s eyes. The man had four men standing behind him all in rich suits and dumb sun glasses with their hands folded in front of them.

“Bret, how good it is to see you.” The man extended his arms out to Bret and he casually walked into them.

“Grandfather, it has been too long.”

Grandfather! Bret never mentioned anything like this to us before. As I looked around to the other three they were just as shocked as I was.

Bret stepped to the side of his grandfather and extended his arm to us, “Meet my wolves, Paul,” he said first and Paul slightly nodded his head, “Chad,” Chad mimicked Paul, “Max,” Max mimicked Chad, “and last but certainty not last, Katehrina.” I slightly nodded my head not breaking eye contact with the man.

“Beautiful” The man said to Bret.

Bret nodded, “I know.” he simply said. “Anyways, should we get down to businesses?” Bret stood in front of his grandfather to bring his attention back to him and off of me. Which I was grateful for.
