*Chapter 4*
As we went to our lockers I saw a bunch of girls staring at Seth and then smirk.
Is that the new guy?
Oh he is H-O-T hot!
I am so going to get that little bug off his shoulder. He is mine.
You know for someone they just meet they were already possessive. Seth…. Chris was hot yes. But I mean really when did I become a bug? Man some girls are really weird.
I looked back at Seth…Chris. You know what I am just going to call him Seth. He was walking with his eyes looking very discreetly around the hallways to check for danger and I was watching girls drooling over him. Then I was shoved to the locker. Adrenaline pumping my attacker was on the other end of the hallway in a matter of seconds. Well that person happened to be on the football team. Yea still not sure why he shoved me into the locker but he was now on the floor in pain. Not a great way to start out the school year.
“Oh my gosh are you ok?” I said going to see if he had in broken bones.
“What the heck was that for?” He screamed at me.
“You were the one that shoved me into the locker.” I retorted.
“Yea but that is what I usually do to girls they seem to like it not send me to the ground.” He said smiling.
I rolled my eyes. “You have got to be kidding me.” I turned to Seth. “Come on the bell is about to ring lets go.”
“See you later sugar.” Said the football player. Or should I say Mr. Player.
We headed to the science room. This was by-far the worst class of the day. Seth and sat in the back while we listened to people thoughts.
That new girl is pretty cute. I like it when she does that flippy thing with her hair.
Man who is the hotty in the back he is smoking.
I have got to get her number. How?
I have a feeling they aren’t paying attention pop question. Yea that would be the teacher.
“What does h2o stand for? Miss Crump?”
“Mr. Todd that would stand for water. I learned that in the 6th grade.” Then I smiled sweetly
He rolled his eyes. Great just what I need another smart brunette in my class. Uggggg. This is going to be a long year. This class is going to be the end of my life. My hair is already going grey.
I giggled. I mean really this dude was in his late 40’s he had no color in his hair. His glasses were perched at the end of his huge nose.
“Amber is there something you would like to share with the class?” he asked.
“No sir just wondering when we were going to do something in the 11th grade instead of middle school.”
I felt Seth squeeze my hand. Then heard his thought. Not the greatest idea to back talk the teacher on your first day just quite talking and listen. If he asks a questioning answer it without the extra comment on the end that way we blend in more than we should considering you got a gun in your back pocket. Got it?
Yes I understand it’s just that we learned this stuff so long ago. I hate it when no one understands something we learned back in training.
Yea I get it to but right now let’s just blend in and pay attention to the people who could be a suspect. Like some of those cheerleaders. I got it! You try out for the cheer team and I will try out for football that way we can get closer to some of the kids at this school. We would blend in way more plus some of those girls seem willing to kill for a guy. You might want to watch your back.
I think I can take care of myself thank you very much. Remember I won the most talented last year in hand-to-hand combat.
Then the bell rang telling me that I was off to English. Seth would be going to math. Great I have to do this by myself.
No not all by yourself remember we can still talk without being in the same room. Out of all people I thought you would remember that.
You know if you keep talking or whatever you would consider this then I am blocking you.
Hey. believe me I don’t want to have to listen to you think about how terrible school is. I think it is really fun. Oh and remember the whole blending in thing. Yea don’t draw unneeded attention to yourself. Love you sweet cheeks.
I am going to kill you when we get home! Uggggg! Leave me alone.
Oh don’t be like that girl. Love you. Bye Amber. see you later.
I walked to the back of the room and sat down. I was getting my books out and then heard someone clear their throat.
“Um you are in ‘MY’ seat.” Said some Barbie doll girl. Gosh I hate these types of girls.
“And?”
“You’re in my seat I am the only one that can sit here.”
“I don’t believe I see your name on the desk.” I replied.
“How would you know my name. NEW GIRL?” She really think that is going to hurt my feelings.
“Aww. I think I am going to cry. No one has ever been so mean to me. Can I go call my mommy?” I said sarcastically. I just hope she was smart enough to pick up on that.
“Ha you think you are so funny don’t you.”
I thought for a second. “Well yes I do glad someone thinks so.”
I thought you were supposed to be blending in?
Shut-up Seth I am busy.
Ok then take care of it yourself.
She seemed to get feed up with my little act. Grabbing my brown hair she yanked me from the chair. “Not so funny is it?” She said evilly. Little did she know I could take the football player. I heard several people screaming ‘Fight, Fight, Fight.’ The teacher was telling the class to settle down when she through the first punch. Right on cue Seth burst through the door going I need Amber Crump. He parents are in the hospital.
