I started walking away from his cell, giving Eren a slight nod, and looked at Erwin before heading out the door. I thought back to the determined look that kid had. I have never seen such a look before. I stepped out on to the wooden floor, the old planks creaking under my weight. Tomorrow we would be going to court over the brat. I sighed, walking into a small conference-like room. A map was spread out on the table. I pulled out one of the wooden chairs, sitting down next to the map. I crossed my arms, resting my back against the back of the chair. I took a deep breath, thinking about the trial tomorrow, and how it will go. The door opened, and I looked to see Petra. She had a worried look on her face, and I sat up, twisting my torso, so that I was facing her. "I was put in charge of helping with clean-up in Trost. But, I'm still worried about Levi. Can you watch him for me?" she asked in a hurried tone. I opened my mouth, then closed it, not sure how to respond. I definitely didn't want to sit around in that room, watching that idiot sleep his life away. But I couldn't say no to Petra. She is such a sweet person. I took a deep breath, letting it out in a sigh. "Sure," I said, unenthusiastically. She gave me a big smile, and rushed over to my seat, giving me a hug. "Thank you so much Captain," she said, and I nodded. She let go of me, and I gave her one of my fake smiles. She then ran off, and I fell back in my seat. "Why do I do this to myself?" I asked the empty room, before getting up and walking to the door. I stood in the doorway, as Erwin walked out of the underground prison. "I am going to go talk to Commander Pixis. Make sure we are prepared for tomorrow," he said, before walking off. "Sure thing," I muttered out in reply, talking to myself more than to him. I walked past the huge court room in the center of the building, and towards the infirmary at the opposite end of the structure. I passed through a hallway, the west side of it was completely covered in window. I looked down at the sunlight casting shadows on the tile floor. My boots echoed through the hallway, seeming to grow louder the father I walked.

I turned into the infirmary, and made my way to the nurses desk. A lady was sitting behind it, looking up as I stopped in front of her. She had golden hair, and brown eyes. She wore a white nurses gown, and a mouth mask was pulled down, over her chin. She gave me a smile. "How may I help you?" she said with a sugar-coated voice. "I'm here to see Captain Levi," I said, returning her friendly gaze with a straight face. "Of course. He is in room B8, straight down this hallway, and to the right," she said pointing to the left corridor. I gave her a nod in thanks, and made my way down the left corridor, turning right at his room. The door was open, but I gave the wall a slight knock, before entering. I heard light snores, and when I stepped in, I saw that he was fast asleep. He leg was wrapped, and in a brace, and he had some food left on a platter next to him on a small bedside table. I sighed, sitting down in the empty chair, which had been pulled up next to the table. I leaned forward, resting my elbows on my knees, as I looked over at the sleeping captain. His hair was a mess, and his head was tilted towards me. I looked down at my fingers, twiddling my thumbs. I can't believe Petra comes here in her free time, and just sits next to him. Ever since we cleaned up the last of he titans a couple days ago, she volunteered at the infirmary. In a sense, she is kind of our first aid in the Survey Corps, even though all of the captains, as well as captain Erwin, are trained in basic first aid. I pulled off the black band ring off of my right thumb, rolling it between my first finger and my thumb. The light from the window behind me shone on the ring, and it reflected the light, causing a glistening effect. The engraving on the inside of the band became visible, and I bit my bottom lip a little. I have, on many occasions, contemplated about giving Levi this ring back. But, for some reason, I can never bring myself to do so. The ring was actually one that his mother wore all the time. She had passed it onto him when he was very little, and he gave it to me.

*short flashback*

"here you go (Y/N). This ring is for you," Levi said, dropping the black ring into my open palm. I looked at him confused. "But, didn't you mom give it to you?" I asked, and he nodded. "I think it suits you better. She told me it would be a 'good luck charm'  if such things existed," he replied with a laugh. I smiled, putting the ring on my small hand. It was obviously too big, so instead, I took off my necklace chain, and slipped  it on that. "There," I said, reattaching the necklace around my neck, the new pendant hanging off of it's metal chain. I smiled again, and Levi returned it. "It's perfect..."

I snapped out of my little day dream, and looked at Levi. The freak even talks in his sleep? I let out a sigh. I sat back, leaning slightly against the back of the chair. I put the black ring back on my thumb, now thinking again about the trial tomorrow. I closed my eyes, not thinking about anything in particular. I heard shuffling of the sheets, and I opened an eye, staring at the now awake Levi. "(Y/N)?" he said, a little groggy. I felt a pain in my chest. That is officially the second time he has called my by my name since we were kids. I showed no reaction, as I opened both eyes, sitting up. "You need anything?" I asked, as he rubbed one eye. "No," he said plainly, and I nodded my head slowly, and he gave me a confused look. "Why are you here?" he asked, and I let out a small sigh. "Petra asked me to watch over you while she goes and cleans up outside," I replied, sitting back in my seat. Levi averted his eyes, and I did the same, looking at a plant in the corner of the room. "We'll be going to court tomorrow to fight over the titan-shifter, but I'm sure you are aware of that fact as it is," I said, glancing back at him. He was looking at his bandaged leg. "Yeah," he said faintly, and I turned my gaze back to my ring. "On second thought..." I looked up at Levi, and he turned to meet my gaze. "Get me some water," he finished, and I sighed, casually getting up from the chair, and walking to the door. "Fun fact, you talk in your sleep," I said, before walking out. I got a small cup with some cold water in it, and walked back to the room. So far, this has been torture to sit through.

A/N: I know it is a little shorter, but I didn't want to have to split the trial in half between multiple chapters, so yeah. If you like it thus far, make sure to vote and share this. Also, in the comments, put down your OC specifics. (Name and appearance). I'll put mine down as well, so that'll be cool. -L
