The rest of the day went by awkwardly, with me having to sit with Levi until Petra came back, which was right after dinner. We ended up staying in Wall Sina, and we were given guest rooms to spend the night in. There were two beds per room, a small desk, and a window opposite of the door. I stared at my ceiling, unable to sleep, and looked over at the bed next to me, where Petra was sleeping soundly. I frowned at her, before turning over to face the wall. I closed my eyes, waiting for fatigue to wash over me. I was asleep, but only lightly, and I was easily woken up by the sound of Petra shooting up out of bed. Her sheets ruffled together, and her breathing seemed choppy. I turned over, sitting up. "Are you okay?" I asked, and she gulped down a breath, staring at her bed. She nodded twice quickly. "Yeah. N-nothing to worry about captain. It was just a bad dream," she said, her voice a quavering a bit, her voice still uneasy. I sighed, laying back down, my head calmly sinking into the pillow. "C-captain?" her small voice called out questioningly. "Yes?" I asked, looking at the ceiling. "Can you sing to me?" she asked in a scared tone, a few tears falling. I looked at her a little surprised. I let out a little sigh. How could I say 'no'? I sat back up, turning so that I was facing her bed. My back was leaning against the wall, the sheets were awkwardly twisted on my bed. I rested my head against the wall, looking upwards a little. I began humming a song. The song my dad wrote for my mom. The same song he taught me how to play...

If you're a lover

you should know

The lonely moments just get lonelier

The longer you're in love

Than if you were alone

Memories turn into daydreams

Become a taboo

I'm the one to be afraid

The deeper that I go

It takes my breath away

Soft hearts, electric souls

Heart to heart, and eyes to eyes

Is this taboo?

Baby we built this house of memories

Take my picture now, shake it till you see it

And when your fantasies, become your legacies

Promise me a place in the house of memories...

I stopped, looking at the now happily asleep Petra. I wanted to smile at her, but instead, I kept my frown as I turned towards the window. The moonlight shone through the glass, casting a soft, but eerie light in the room. I turned myself back around, laying down on the bed again, closing my eyes, and falling asleep.

The morning came quickly, and I was awoken be the orange rays of the rising Sun. I sat up, stretching out my body, arching my back. I looked over just as Petra opened her eyes. She let out a little moan, blinking a few times and sat up, rubbing her eyes. "Morning," she said, giving me a smile. I nodded my head, casually throwing the sheets off of me. The cold morning air hit my bare legs, as I sat on the bed, my legs dangling off the side. "Morning," I finally said, and Petra gave me a smile. I got up, and walked to the table, where my uniform was neatly folded up. I lifted the first thing, and began changing out of my oversized shirt and shorts. Petra did the same, standing next to me. "You'll do fine today," she said, and I looked at her. Her smile widened, and I looked down at my stuff, nodding my head slowly. I began buckling my leathers, when I heard Petra humming. I finished up, folding up my night clothes, and putting them in my bag. "You like the song?" I asked, and she nodded. "What is it called?" she asked, and I took in a breath. "House of Memories. It was a song my dad wrote for my mom as a proposal. He didn't have any money for a ring, so he wrote her a song," I replied, and I saw her smiling. "Ready?" I asked, and she nodded her head.
