The Next Morning
My head was heavy and I could feel a construction sight settling in the back of my forehead but my pillow was soft and warm.
I went to open my eyes but as soon as the light hit me, I closed them. I groaned, "I am not okay with the sun burning a whole in my retinas." I said into my empty room, at least I thought it was empty.
"That's what happens when you drink more then your limit." A voice said.
One minute I was on my bed the next I was standing up, in only a shirt and my panties that I wore the night before. "Mason!" I whisper-yelled at him, he was lying on his back shirtless. "What on earth are you doing here?"
"You asked me to stay." He said.
"Why would I do that?"
"I don't know, Sugar Plum, why would you do that?" Mason challenged as he put his hands behind his head. I shook my head, this was not happening, I started to rub my temples trying to remember what happened last night. I remember Mason and his band playing 'Check Yes Juliet' by We The Kings. "Stop, you're going to hurt yourself, nothing happened between us."
"I can see that." I hissed. All of a sudden a knock on my door from my mother.
"Scarlet, we are expecting you at the table in fifteen minutes for brunch." I looked down at my clothes, I only had fifteen minutes to get ready and get Mason out of here.
"Sure th-" Mason started to yell out but I clamped my hand over his mouth until my mother was out of hearing range.
Mason smiled behind my hand, that's when I realised that I was lying on top of him, my legs were tangled with his and my hand was on his chest. I jumped up, thinking that the faster I got up the less likely I would believe that it actually happened. "Jesus, Sugar Plum, relax, I wont read anything into it."
"I really hate you right now." I said grabbing my dress that I wore last night and moved into my walk in wardrobe.
"You keep saying that like your trying to convince yourself not me."
"Can you keep your voice down please?"
"Why? Do mummy and daddy not approve of having a boy in their little girl's room?"
"Are you always this kind of pain in the ass?" I asked walking back into my room, but Mason didn't answer no instead he just stared at me.
"Now that I can see the dress properly I can really appreciate how amazing your body is." I didn't look at him or respond I just sat down in front of my mirror and put on the minimal amount of make up I needed to get rid of the night before.
I put my mascara down and turned to him, he was sitting on my bed texting on his phone. "I have to go down stairs, please go now." I said before shoving my feet into a pair of heels and walking out my door. I wasn't going to let him have the last say.
"Scarlet." My mother said from her seat next to the head of the table. "I'm so glad that you could make it."
"I am sorry that you had to wait." I said, sitting down next to the boy that was about my age at the table.
"Don't worry about it now." Mother dismissed. "There is someone that I would like you to meet." Mother pointed at the smart looking boy that was next to me. "This is Bradly; he is the son of a dear friend of your father's."
"It's very nice to meet you Bradly." I lifted my hand so that he could kiss it, which he did, like the gentlemen that he was obviously raised to be.
