Apparently everyone knew something was wrong.
After her dark thoughts in art, she had been receiving lots of concerned comments.
Now she was in French, not really thinking about the work, but starting to think about other things.
The note, gone. Her role, gone. Her variation, gone.
She was thinking of the inevitable.
One day, Dr. Yeagers money would be gone. Then, what would they do?
She thought some more. Furrowing her eyebrows she came to a realization.
She could get a job. She would have to cut the time for dance and schoolwork, but it would be better to have money then to have no home.
The bell rang and she stood up to leave the class.
"Ackerman," Levi called.
"Yeah?" Mikasa replied.
"Are you okay? All hour you haven't done any work, you didn't answer any questions," he continued.
"Yep," she said blankly.
"You were doing math equations on the margin of your paper," he stated.
She did? She wasn't aware that she was writing anything.
"Is something on your mind?" He asked her.
Her eyes started to well up. Not now. It's a horrible time now.
The late bell rang.
"Do you need to talk about anything?" He paused. "Mikasa, I know school can be stressful. It's not worth crying about."
"I know," she mumbled. "It's nothing really."
Her whole school year was planed out. She was going to dance in Youth American Grand Prix. She was going to audition for a television series.
It's all falling apart. Sure, she got money this month, but what happens when I stops.
It's been eating away at her. Even before today, she thought about it a bit. Then, everyone she knows will die one day. She knew what this feeling was. She didn't want to admit it.
"Existential crisis," she said. When she said this she knew it was something she'd been through before.
"Existential crisis," Levi repeated. "What's that?"
"It's not big," she said. I've been through it before," Mikasa put down her bag. "When you realize that everyone you know and love will die one day, and that your life has no purpose."
"That doesn't sound like something that's not big. Why are you going through this now?"

Mikasa wasn't at Musical Theatre. The cast list was posted. He was casted as the White Rabbit, because of his "wonderful" performance when he was late.
She was Alice, it made sense, she just looked amazing when she was practicing.
He knew she was at school. They weren't doing much, but he wanted to just be by her.
The class was just watching the movie, no rehearsals yet. He slid his phone out of his pocket and went to text her.
Wait, would texting her make him look desperate? What should he do? When the dismissal bell rang he saw Mikasa walking with Eren and Armin. She wasn't sick, that made him feel better.

Mikasa told Levi about her family situation. It made her feel better to know that someone has a similar background.
She missed Musical Theatre, but there was nothing she could do about that.
She walked home after school with Eren and Armin like always, only this time she looked around to see the, "Now Hiring!" signs.
Eren noticed that Mikasa was acting weird, but he was also acting different.
At first it was because of Jean, but when the money came in the mail, it made him realize his mom still wasn't home.
He was worried. She went missing, and hasn't been back.
His family was leaving him, and he felt that Mikasa would be the next to go.
