Chapter 17, Daddy Levi

When Mikasa arrived home that night, Eren was in a foul mood. He mumbled, "did you have fun?" And Mikasa responded yes.

Why was Mikasa liking him? At this rate, Mikasa will leave him, the only family Eren had left.

He shrugged it off when she smiled good night after she made him dinner.

Mikasa would never abandon him after all.

The next morning at school, Jean was nervous to approach Mikasa, he wanted to talk to her, but there was a scary aura following her.

At first he assumed it was just when Eren was around, but he felt it all throughout French class as well.

"Kirstein," M.Levi commented. "Meet me after class."

That's when Jean found out that Levi was also unhappy with him for some reason.

The bell rang and Jean wanted to sprint to musical theatre. But he didn't.

"You need to be good to her," Levi told him.

"What do you mean?" Jean asked. He had no idea who "her" was.

"Mikasa. Be good to Mikasa," Levi said. "She's had it rough, she needs someone who can really support her."

"Okay," Jean replied.

"And next time you go out, tell me," Levi added.

"Wait, are you her dad?!" Jean exclaimed. "I'm sorry I didn't inform you earlier!"

Levi chuckled, "If I were, she wouldn't have had it so rough."

"Oh," Jean mumbled.

"Don't tell her about this either," Levi added. "I'm sure she's already hearing enough of it."

Jean nodded before thanking him and leaving. The two minute bell rang.

Mikasa was waiting for him outside the door.

"Haven't seen you all day," she said.

"Yeah, your brother is pretty scary," Jean laughed.

Mikasa laughed too, "he can appear that way."

"Hey, how close are you to Levi?" Jean asked suddenly.

Mikasa had never really thought about it. Levi was always helping her, if anything even more then Dr. Jeager had been.

"I guess if I think about it," she paused. "He's kinda like my dad."

Jean smiled. Levi must also think of her as his daughter. He doesn't know how her family life is, but it must be different then his.

Levi watched the two of them laughing and talking as the got farther from the French room.

He smiled.
