The show was coming closer and closer, Jean was extremely nervous. Whenever he looked at the upperclassmen, they too, seemed anxious, that didn't make him feel any better.

But when Jean looked over at Mikasa, she looked calm as ever. But in reality, she wasn't.

She was running out of time to finish adjusting the costumes, and with dance she had even less time. Mikasa had been staying up late to finish, so she was sleep deprived.

Right now, Mikasa would do literally anything to not have to see more costumes.

"Maybe Hannah Montana re runs will be on when I'm sewing tonight," she thought to herself.

At first she thought about asking Eren to help, but he had football and would be back late.

She also considered Armin, but he is deathly afraid of needles.

Mikasa would have asked Sasha, but she knew Sasha would only distract her from the work.

She was so lost in thought she didn't notice Jean walk over to her.

"When I look at this set," Jean started. "It makes me feel like I'm in Alice in the Country of Hearts."

"Is that a show?" Mikasa asked.

"Yeah, but the manga is better," Jean replied.

"I can start reading it later," Mikasa thought to herself, she would do almost anything to not have to finish sewing.

Mikasa actually was almost done with her work. All she had left was her costume.

The old one Mrs.Jeager had made was really old, you could see warn patches on it and the lace unraveling.

It would be a lot of work.

Jean could see that Mikasa was working really hard—with her role and the costumes.

Mikasa's singing had gotten astonishingly better than before; and watching her act was like watching a movie.

"Do you want any help with the costumes?" Jean asked. "I-I know that I'm not the best at seeing but I'm pretty sure I could do something to help."

Suddenly Jean's face became red.

"Why would I ask that? Mikasa is clearly trying to focus and I'm just getting in her way," he thought to himself.

"Actually that would be great," Mikasa told him. "Are you sure you have time? Don't you have football?"

Oh, right. Jean forgot about football.

"They only need the Varsity team tonight," he lied. "I can help."

"They only need the Varsity team?" Mikasa asked. "Then why is Eren going?"

"Eren. Great, now I have to do something about Eren," Jean cursed to himself.

"Dunno. Maybe he wants to help out or something," Jean lied again.

"Maybe he wants to help out or something?! That's all you could come up with Jean!" He shouted at himself in his mind. "Great. Just great."

"That sounds like him," Mikasa sighed and smiled a little. "He's a good kid."

Suddenly realizing how mean that could sound she tried to come up with an excuse.

"Not that y-you aren't a good kid o-o-or anything! He's just never cared about anything enough to help without being told to before!" Mikasa almost shouted. "He's growing up!"

Jean laughed. This is he first time he's ever seen Mikasa like this—she was embarrassed.

"What are you laughing at?!" She covered her own face with one hand and put her other hand over his.

"You're just so cute," Jean said without realizing it. He had grabbed her hands and was looking at her face.

He let go—realizing what he just did—and covered his own face which was now very red.

"Hey stop flirting over there and get to work!" An upperclassmen yelled at them.

At that very moment Eren ran into the theatre.

"Mikasa! We have to go! Now!" He shouted.

"What, why?!" Mikasa asked as Eren ran over and pulled her off the ground.

"It's mom," is all he could say with tears in his eyes.
