"Come on Mrs. Jean, you can't do this to me! Not when I'm already in Senior year!" you could here James scream from a few classrooms down. You had just got done with your afternoon tutoring and was putting away your books when you heard the infamous James Buchanan Barnes yell to Mrs. Jean, the Principal of Brooklyn High School.

"I'm sorry Mr. Barnes, but your grades are unacceptable and do not reach the requirements you need to graduate. And, unfortunately, no teacher in the school will tutor you because of your reputation." Mrs. Jean stated bluntly. With your curiosity getting the best of you, you slowly wondered towards the door. Mrs. Jean was standing in front of James, hands on her wide hips while her eyes, covered by her glasses, were stern. James, on the other hand, was leant up on the desk, one hand running through his thick, wavy hair while the other rested on his waist. His jaw was clenched and his eyes were focused on the floor, as though he was trying to think of a solution to this problem.

You approached the doorway and knocked on the wood wall inside the classroom. Both heads shot up and stared at you. Mrs. Jean turned in your direction and smiled. "Is there some way I could help you Ms. (Y/LN)?" She asked, her stern eyes turning to soft and kind eyes. "Well," you said, clearing your throat. "I actual have a way that I could help him." You explained, looking into James' beautiful hazel-blue eyes, that held a questionable look. "Go on," Mrs. Jean asked. "I could tutor him." You explained." James chuckled. "Be tutored by a Junior? Ha, no thanks." He said, turning his head away from you.

You shrugged your shoulders. "Alright, well when you fail and have to redo your Senior year again, I'll be all caught up with you and maybe I can help you next year." You turned yourself away from him and began your way out the door when you felt a gentle hand grab your forearm. "Wait, wait. Please, I'm sorry." He said, his eyes filled with regret and sorrow. You couldn't help but feel a little sorry for the poor guy and so you nodded and put your hand on his shoulder. "It's okay, but if we're going to make this work, you need to show more respect," You explained to him, smiling as you slightly pushed him out of your personal space bubble. Mrs. Jean's face was absolutely beaming. "Alright, looks like you actually have a chance James." She said as she exited the room. "It's Bucky!" He yelled to her as she left.

"Okay. I, uh, kinda don't know your name so, yeah." He explained, veering his eyes away from you and scratching the back of his neck. "(Y/N), but you can call me (Y/NN) for short." you said sticking your hand out form a shake. "(Y/N), don't think I've ever heard that one before, but it's cool, kind of unique." He said, grabbing your hand firmly and shaking it.

After a few moments of silence, you spoke up. "So tomorrow we'll meet up in the library after school so make sure you bring all your papers, books, notes, pretty much anything you'll need that will help me understand what you're having trouble with." You told him. "Or," he suggested. "We could head over to my place and study." He said, getting a little too close for your comfort. You stuck your hand out and stopped him. "Okay, rule one pretty boy; Stay. Out. Of. My. Space. Or so help me God, I will pummel your precious little face to a pole," you explained to him, giving his cheek a little squeeze before leaving the room to start on your way home.

As you walked out of the school building, you couldn't help but mentally slap yourself and think What am I getting myself into?
