Valentine's Day

Another Valentine's day gone by...

Alone.

Yeah, it kinda sucked, but at least you had Bucky, your best friend and crush, to watch God-awful romantic comedies with.

It became tradition after your ex-boyfriend dumped you on the day of romance because he didn't want to get you a gift; however, even if it hurt you, it did give you what you and Buck have now.

Bucky always came over around 9ish, you would cook breakfast together, eat, chat, and pick from your extensive collection of over-rated rom-coms, especially those that involved Adam Sandler (those were Bucky's favorite). Then you would lie about on your ugly 90's couch until you either ran out of popcorn or the both of you fell asleep and woke up at two in the morning. You genuinely looked forward to it, as Bucky would always distract you from how depressing the idea of being alone romantically was.

This year though, he decided to change things.

On the morning of, he still showed up around 9ish, but he looked...clean. Typically you would both throw on something comfortable. Today he wore his hair in a man-bun, the many flyways tucked behind his ear or patted down with gel. He had some light facial hair, but it was neat and trimmed, giving him a swooning 5 o'clock shadow look. His clothes fit perfectly in all the right places, a white t-shirt tucked under a mess of black leather, trading in his old sweats for a pair of his faded blue jeans to show off his muscular legs, and a pair of biker boots to finish the look. All in all, he looked like a damn snack.

You, however, did not. You had on grey joggers, an oversized black hoodie, and Captain America fuzzy socks. So, overall, you looked like a mess.

"Hey Buck, whatcha wearin' there?" you questioned inquisitively. He simply gave you a grin and held up two tickets. You raised an eyebrow at this, waiting for an answer. "Well," he began. "I thought we could change it up this year. So I bought us tickets to go see Adam Sandler's new movie Blended. The movie doesn't start 'til 1:45 so that gives you plenty of time to get all dolled up for me." This time, his smile didn't seem so innocent.

Glaring at him for a moment, you decided to let him in while rolling your eyes. "Why change it up? I thought we had a good thing goin'."

"We do," he explained. "I just, I don't know. I just wanted this year to be special. Just get ready and come with me, Doll. I promise if you don't like it, next year we can go back to our old ways, what'd ya say?" You thought about it for a moment. Go out with this crazy hot guy in public that just so happens to be your crush and best friend, or hide-away in your house another year. The answer was not that difficult.

"Alright. I suppose I could use a reason to wear my new dress." you replied, a smile drawing itself onto your face. "But, you have to stay in the living room. I don't want you peeking at me while I get ready." You made a face to show you were only joking, but when he returned with a wink and a "no promises, darling," you decided now would be a good time to exit the room.

As you brought out your make-up bag, you thought about how strange Buck was acting. He's wearing cologne, dressed appropriately, and he's flirting? Something's up; however, you tried your best to just let it go and focus on your mascara stroked

Once you finished your makeup, a natural look consisting of some mascara and liner to make your eyes pop, light foundation, and some poppin' highlight, you go out your dress. It was simple, something you had seen in Old Navy as you wondered around the mall a few weeks back. It wasn't anything tight or showy, but it did show off your figure in just the right spots with it ending right around your knees. It was (y/f/c) with thin, spaghetti straps, something that isn't very practical for the cinema. With this fact in mind, you threw on your favorite denim jacket and your dressy, black slip-ons. Again, nothing fancy, but it was a pretty look.
