[Phone rings]
Emily: "Stephen, what are you going to the party as?"
Stephen: "I'm so excited! I'm gonna dress up like Nosferatu, with the makeup done and everything."
Emily: "Have fun with that. I think I wanna be a sexy woodland creature this year."
Stephen: "Weren't you a fox last year and an owl the year before that?"
Emily: "Yeah but this time is going to be different, I'm going to wear a push-up bra; to support the twins."
Stephen: "A push-up bra? How innovative and different Emily!"
Emily: "Sarcasm isn't your best trait."
Stephen: "You still got it. I'll see you at the party, okay?"
Emily: "Yeah, bye."Halloween would be an escape for the group. They all planned to party in favor of celebration more so than mourning. After all, Día de los Muertos was the next day and the day beforehand would fill the mind with thoughts of candy, costumes, feasts, and gatherings. Día de los Muertos (The Day of the Dead) was set as a celebration for those who have passed; those who were stone cold dead. Lilith, Morgan, and Kristal would wait for their friends and family to dedicate to them but as for today, everyone would be more worried about Emily's breasts than respecting the dead. Still, there was a more serious matter at hand. Who gave them a reason to mourn the dead? Who killed Lilith, Morgan, and Kristal? Of course, before Morgan's disturbing resurrection. This night would be dedicated to more than costumes and candy. Their night would reach an unsettling climax.
[7:30 p.m. - Sage's house]
The outside of Sage's house was shrouded in the festivities. The orange, yellow, and white lights that covered his roof gave the trick or treaters a sweet taste in their mouths as it reminded them of the candy corn that soon awaited them at the front door. In order to make their way to the door, they had to walk through a graveyard of old, dusty skeletons and tombstones that caused a storm of coughs once the wind blew the dust from the decorations right into their noses. After escaping the graveyard of 'ancient decor,' the children would finally make their way to the doorstep. On guard, they would gently tiptoe their way up the three steps to the door, acknowledging that the entirety had been blacked out only leaving a lit pumpkin near the door to guide them. They knocked hearing footsteps quickly rush to the door. It opened. Bunched together; they all said, "trick or treat!" Then something that sounded like a rolling can made it's way to the out most child's feet. They shined their lights and followed a trail of blood that led to a severed head! Their hearts pounded as they quickly ran away, yelling for their parents.
