We walked along the street to Louis’ flat. He was sloppy drunk and had one arm draped over my shoulder and repeatedly tried grabbing at my butt. I fought him off until we finally reached his flat and I managed to take his keys from him and let us in. he walked into his room while I took my time to collect my thoughts. I just witnessed Louis nearly beat someone to death and here I was in his apartment ready to take care of him. I walked slowly into his room with a wet cloth for his wounds when I stopped in my tracks. He sat there shirtless with his back to me and I was in awe. Perfectly tan and toned muscles were tense and defined. Scars from multiple fights blemished his perfect skin. I regained my composure and knelt in front of him, breaking his gaze from the floor.

“You don’t have to take care of me I'm a big boy.” Louis said with a smirk of sarcasm as I began to clean his wounds.

“I'm just returning the favor.”

He tilted my face up to his with his finger and I noticed his eyes were back to their sparkling blue. Before I could protest he guided me onto the bed and my head fell onto his chest as he stroked my hair.

“What happened to her?” I asked remembering his sister who had passed.

“Who?”

“Your sister.” I said trying to find his eyes but they were looking elsewhere.

“When we were kids we were unseperable, being twins and all. When were twelve, our dad started to knock around our mum pretty good and I always had to keep Katie hidden from his violent sparks. He stayed until we were sixteen and I had done good in defending myself and swore no one would ever touch my mum or Katie again.” He began.

I looked up at him. His jaw was clenched tight and he fought back anger and tears.

“When Katie got her first boyfriend she started to come home with bruises on her arms and the occasional black eyes. I knew it was John doing it to her and I needed to put a stop to it. When he came to get her one night for a date he and I got into a big scuffle in the living room. Katie swore she would never speak to me again but being twins that didn’t last long.” He continued on.

“Well did she get rid of john?” I asked.

“No. she ended up marrying that douche and that’s why she is gone today. John came home drunk one night and Katie got the worst of it and now she’s gone.” He finished with anger swelling in his voice.

“Oh Louis I'm so sorry.” I said as I cuddled into his chest.

“I failed to protect her and I live with the anger and guilt of it every day. But you know the worst part Karsyn?” he asked looking down at me.

“What?” I asked in fear of the answer.

“I’ve turned into John.” He answered.

As the words flowed from his lips they sent chills down my spine and his gaze cut me to the bone.

“No you haven’t Louis.” I stammered.

“Oh come on Karsyn I terrify you. Even I can see that.” he concluded.

“If you terrified me Louis I wouldn’t be here. I believe you are changing and you make me feel safe.” The words fell from my mouth before I could even realize what I was saying.

“I believe you are changing Me.” he said before he planted a kiss on my forehead.

I lay there with my head on Louis’ chest thinking about all he had just confessed to me. It meant the world to me that he thought I was changing him. Before I knew it we had both drifted off to sleep.

I awoke with a jolt. I flung myself from a bad dream into reality and looked around the large room. The bed next to me was still heavy and I knew Louis was still asleep. I rolled over to see him sprawled out on the bed snoring in a deep sleep. He looked so peaceful and after the rough night he had I decided it was best to leave him asleep. Before I crawled out of bed I planted a soft kiss on Louis’ cheek. I found my way to the kitchen and proceeded to make some tea. I was getting a tea bag from the cabinet when felt arms grab my waist. I let out a giggle as Louis’ facial hair tickled at my cheek.

“I thought you left Me.” his scratchy voice whispered in my ear.

“Why would I do that?” I asked playfully as I turned into him.

“Come on babe lets go shower.” He said as he picked me up and carried me off.
