"I can't believe it's been a week since I died." Matthew said, tracing lazy patterns of the cafeteria tabletop. "Or that I died at all, in fact."
"There's been rumors going around." (Y/n) poked at her lunch. "They're saying that Alfred crashed the car on purpose..."
"That's not true." Matthew shook his head. "We were fighting over something stupid, a girl actually, and he got distracted."
"(Y/n)." Paige elbowed her. She'd grown accustom to (Y/n) 'talking to herself'. "Look." Paige nodded towards the double doors of the cafeteria.
Alfred had just come in. His face was still bruised and his arm was in a sling. An uncomfortable silence had settled over the room. After a few moments of staring, (Y/n) stood up an walked across the room, loping her arm through Alfred's good one.
"What did I tell you-" He growled.
"Do you want to sit with a bunch of people whispering false accusations of murder or with someone who knows what really happened?" She cut him off.
"You don't know shit about what happened." Alfred sneered, attempting to rip his arm from her grasp.
"A stupid fight over a girl?" She raised her eyebrows. "Matthew told me."
Alfred glared at her. "Fine." He grumbled. "But don't touch me."
She released his arm and lead him towards her table. (Y/n) takes her spot back beside Paige and Alfred sits across from them; half of his body in Matthew.
"Well," Matthew scoots to the side. "At least this is progress."
(Y/n) nodded. "Yeah," She sighed. "Progress."
