(Y/n)'s hesitated for a moment when she saw who was calling her.  Alfred's name flashed across the screen accompanied by a picture of Matthew's, Alfred's and (Y/n)'s faces squished together.  They had taken it a few weeks back after they'd discovered Matthew took solid form in his room.  Of course, Alfred wouldn't be able to see Matthew in the picture anymore.

"Hey." (Y/n) answered quietly.

"Hey, (Y/n)." Alfred sounded exhausted.  His voice was thick as if he'd just been crying.

"How are you?" (Y/n) asked even though she knew the answer.

"Tired, depressed; the list goes on." A curt laugh came from the receiver.  It was obviously forced.  "I called to tell you that we've set a date to scatter his ashes." (Y/n)'s heart clenched when she noticed that Alfred avoided saying his brother's name.  "I want you to be there.  It's important to me since you've played such an important part in my life these past few weeks."

"Alfred I-" (Y/n) started to protest.  She didn't deserve to be there, she had put Alfred in the state he was now.

"Please." Alfred cut her off.  "I'll need someone to lean on when we put my brother to the wind."

(Y/n) was silent for a moment.  "Of course I'll be there." She conceded, her throat clenching.

"Thank you." Alfred sounded relieved.  "I'll text you the details." He said before hanging up.

(Y/n) pulled her phone away a from her ear and stared at the screen.  "Thank you." A voice sounded from behind her.  (Y/n) jumped slightly and turned around towards the owner of the voice.  Matthew stood behind her, accompanied by a pale ghost.  Gilbert, Matthew had told her last night when Gilbert popped in for a visit.

(Y/n) gave Matthew a weak smile and looked back at her phone when it chimed.  Alfred had sent her the time and location where they would scatter Matthew's ashes.
