Paige looked up at the branches of the ash tree. She sighed. "I actually liked this tree."
"Sorry did I." (Y/n) said. Her eyes landed on a dying branch. "Two deaths for the price of one crash." She muttered.
"That's grim." Matthew frowned. He was leaning against the trunk, watching the two girls.
"It's true." (Y/n) shot back.
"You know," Paige interrupted. "I'll never get used to you talking to yourself."
"I'm not talking to myself." (Y/n) rolled her eyes. "Matthew is actually here. In fact, he's giving you the stink eye. I don't think he appreciates being ignored."
Matthew looked over at (Y/n) then towards Paige. "I'm used to it... I guess." He shrugs.
There is an awkward silence. "Let me see your arm." (Y/n) breaks it, striding towards Matthew.
He holds it out towards her, the numbers dark against his pale skin. "Thirty eight days." Matthew says. "Just over a month to figure this out."
"Okay... I'm going to leave you to flirt with your imaginary boyfriend." Paige says, interrupting Matthew.
"Not imaginary and not my boyfriend!" (Y/n) answers, not bothering to look back at her friend.
