quite a long chapter aheadddddd

LEE SUNMI

"hello, love."

i found myself staring into pitch black eyes that caused me to shiver with their cold darkness. his hooded eyes made everything much more alluring, drawing me in ever so slightly. there was clearly an untold story behind those pools of darkness, but i would be a fool to venture that far.

not only were his eyes in contrast to baekhyun's warm brown ones ; his clothes were of brighter colours as compared to baekhyun's all-black outfit.

not knowing what to reply, i simply shoved the stack of papers that i had collected into his arms. then, i awkwardly gave a small nod before getting up to get the hell out of there. i hadn't even stood to my full height when kai grabbed my wrist, pulling me back to him.

"why the rush, baekhyun's princess?" his eyes gleamed as he stared at me in amusement.

i hastily pulled away from him. "what's wrong with you?!" i exclaimed. kai put a hand over his chest where his heart presumably was and gave me a mock offended face.

"ouch that hurts. aren't you happy to see me?"

i looked away, not wanting to meet his gaze. when i didn't answer him, he leaned in closer as if to inspect my face. "but..."

i raised my eyebrows, prompting him to continue even though i was itching to run away. for all i knew, he was a demon as well and our first meeting definitely didn't go well.

"you really look like her. no wonder baekhyun is behaving that way." he commented. "well not completely, far from that in fact, but your eyes. damn."

suddenly feeling very conscious of him staring deep into my eyes, i turned so that he could only see my side profile. still, the question that surfaced in my mind was burning and eager for answers.

"who's...she?" i asked in a small voice, but i knew he could hear me crystal clear.

"she..." kai put the stack of papers on the ground and crossed his arms, staring into the distance with a thoughtful look. "...is someone who looks like you."

no shit, sherlock.

i huffed in annoyance and turned on my heel to walk away. kai followed suit immediately with his hands stuffed into his pockets casually. "stop following me!" i whipped around and hissed. he jerked slightly as if startled.

"hey don't scare me like that. i have a weak heart." he said with widened eyes. i stared at him with skeptical eyes before remembering that time was still ticking away and i had been in the 'toilet' for a very long time. i continued my walk, quickening the pace only to find that kai was right behind me once again.

before i could say anything, he held up both of his hands in a surrender gesture. "i'm just heading for class."

"class? you?" i scoffed, finding it hard to believe that someone like him still attended lessons. granted, it was university, but i pictured him to be hurting and killing people all day long.

perhaps i was too judgmental, but i couldn't help it.

before i knew, he stopped right outside my classroom. i was so busy with my thoughts that i had passed right by it. backtracking a little, i pointed to the door. "please tell me this is not your class."

"it is." he beamed and twisted the door's handle before i could even react. the door opened to reveal my classmates and lecturer staring at us.

oh shit.
