JEON JUNGKOOK
i didn't like that kai guy.
ever since he appeared in our school, sunmi started to act out of her character. i could see that she tried to avoid him at first, but as weeks went by, they have gotten a lot more closer. close as in not the 'friends' kind of close, but sunmi didn't push him away like she used to.
things started to get worrying.
"jungkook?"
i blinked. pamela stood in front of me with an amused expression. "are you okay?"
"yeah." i answered, even though i was itching to demand answers from her. the arrival of kai proved that sunmi had not been lying, and that meant that whatever she had said about pamela being an angel was likely to be true as well.
but no matter how hard i tried, pamela never once faltered. the way she acted was exactly the same as how she usually did. it's the same pamela that i made friends with, 6 years ago, together with sunmi.
also, she was the pamela that i grew to have feelings for. i've never admitted it, as i was afraid that it would ruin our relationship. it's a secret that i held dearly to my heart, a foolish one-sided love that refused to back down.
"you seem very out of it." pamela commented. her lips shaped into a frown, creases started to appear on her forehead.
i reached out and prodded at her forehead in an attempt to smooth out the jagged, uneven lines. "i'm alright, just tired. lets go."

LEE SUNMI
i rested my head on the table and stared intently at the silver bracelet that encircled my wrist.
surprisingly, it was a perfect fit but comfortable enough for me. in fact, it was so light that i could hardly feel it on my wrist.
since there was no way i could remove it, i had to sleep with it on even at night. even though my room was dark, the bracelet shone like a beacon.
once again, i found myself missing him.
baekhyun.
he was a jerk, no doubt, but like what he once said, "the heart knows things the mind can never explain." i hated myself for feeling that way, for wanting to know where his disappeared to. and i knew i had to sort out my feelings as soon as possible.
"that bracelet made of gold?" a familiar voice sounded behind me.
i snapped out of my thoughts and turned. kai stood there with his hands buried deep into his pockets, the end of his chestnut-brown fringe touching his eyes. i couldn't believe he actually listened to me and changed his hairstyle. after all, saying that i didn't like his usual gelled up hair was simply a random comment made by me a few days ago.
not knowing what to reply to his sarcastic comment, i returned to my position but lay my head on my arms this time, obscuring his view of the bracelet. i closed my eyes but sensed kai pulling out the chair beside me and sitting down.
the library was dead silent with everyone busy burying their noses in their notes. however, i was certain that kai being quiet was not because he's scared of disturbing people. something was bothering him.
"what's wrong?" i murmured, with my eyes still closed. being greeted by silence, i cracked an eye open, only to find kai staring at me with widened eyes. like a kid who just saw santa claus.
