❥Tyler

"You are absolutely gorgeous, Tyler Joseph. Don't ever forget that."

The way he says it is soft, he must think I'm asleep. If I'm being honest, it's quite difficult to even close my eyes when my body is bubbling with a mix of excitement and contentment. A weird tingling sense that I never even knew existed.

Our bodies fit together like jigsaw pieces, every curve and slope aligning together so naturally. I can hear his heart, it's pace steady with the beat of the rise and fall of his chest. I can hear his breathing getting shallower -- it must mean he's trying to sleep as well. I hear the movie playing, and it almost feels like background noise, even though it's right in front of us.

I reach my arm out, which startles Josh an almost unnoticeable amount. I sit up, my head still parallel to his chest. And then I do it. Leaning in, my lips meet his gently. The movement was so swift and spontaneous, I almost think I'm dreaming. But, then I come back to reality, and Josh and I are still kissing.

His lips are soft and taste a bit like mint-chocolate covered strawberries -- if that makes any sense. I feel his fingers wrap around my hips, and my hands are on his chest. I'm the one to pull away, but our faces is only centimeters away from each other. My sight flickers from the pink shade on his lips to the bronze color that are trapped in his eyes.

"Sorry," I say, my tone soft and quiet enough to be a whisper, "Couldn't sleep."

A grin slowly makes it's way to Josh's face, and he just shakes his head. "I'm not complaining."

And then it happens again. Josh's lips find mine for a split second, before pulling away once again, making me whine. "Way to be a tease!" I giggle, my hand playfully hitting his chest. He choruses in, his laughter a bit lower than mine.

I lower my head back onto Josh's chest, and his heart is beating at a fast tempo.

"Someone's excited." I mutter into his shirt, and he just runs his fingers through my short brown hair in return.

The moment my eyes close, I can feel myself slipping into sleep, which I have no control over.

It's dark.

They're screaming.

They're all screaming.

They're all screaming at me.

I have nowhere to run.

Nowhere to hide.

They're closing in.

I can't breathe.

I can't breathe.

I can't breateb.

I can't breahte.

I CAN;T BREAHTE.

I CAM'T BREAHTE.

I CAN'TB

REATHEICABT

MSBREATHEIC

ANTBRETAAHE.

My eyes fly open, and I see Josh's concerned face hovering above mine.

"Tyler? Tyler, are you okay? You -- you were sweating and breathing really hard. I..I didn't know what to do -- if I should wake you or not. Are you okay?" I don't respond, and just lean up to wrap my arms around Josh's neck. Burying my face in his shoulder, I realize I'm covered in sweat and my breaths are heavy.

"I'm so sorry," I mumble into his ear. "It was just a terrible, terrible dream."

I feel Josh's arms wrap around my waist, and his fingers trace the lower part of my back lightly, almost to the point where I can barely feel it. "It's okay, it's okay. I just got so scared. But we're both okay." He whispers softly into my shoulder, pressing his lips against the fabric.

I swear to God this is the very first time I've truly felt at home.
