Yay! 735 reads! You guys are awesome! Thank you so much. Because of all the support I'm posting an early chapter. This is a longer chapter. Enjoy! (ps. The part in italics is what happens whilst she is knocked out- just thought I'd make that clear) :)

"What the heck are we going to do with them?" Asked a harrowing voice I'd never heard before in my life.
"It's time for revenge!" Exclaimed a voice that I knew far too well. The voice that belonged to the Devil.
My body was dragged along the floor. My eyes were pressed together. No matter how much I wanted to wake up my body was too weak to protest with the forces of nature.
Revenge? Revenge for what? What did I ever to do her?
I could hear a protesting grumbling next to me. I was sprawled across some sort of solid surface. It felt like my body had been temporarily pressed against sharp floorboards, giving me splinters. Bruises that would never disappear. Scars that would never fade.
My mind wandered for a moment and then my brain shut itself off. Almost as if I was shutting myself away. Giving up. I was too weak, just too weak.
--------------------------
I gasped, opening my eyes to see I was surrounded by darkness. Things were becoming too hard to bear. I felt like a massive black hole had formed in my stomach and was dissolving my emotions. I heard more grumbling and that was when I stood up. I needed to find out what the heck was going on.
I struggled across the room almost as if I was drunk. I wasn't though. Just a little tipsy from the time I had spent on the floor. How long was I there? What was I even doing here?
I reached my hands out in front of me, searching for the future. Looking or hope. Something to hold onto and treasure. I finally felt a crumbly surface. It felt like my hand was scraping against a brick wall. I kept moving my hand across the wall until I reached what felt like a light switch. Somehow, that had managed to wake me up. Give me strength and power.
I pushed it upwards and watched as a small light flickered on in the centre of the room. It was metaphorical somehow. Symbolising the future. It was odd how such a small ray of light leaking from such a tiny light bulb could give me the light to fight the darkness.
As the light turned itself on I saw Melanie, still at the swivel chair. She was trembling, groaning behind the duct tape covering her mouth. I ran over to her without even acknowledging my surroundings. She saw me and looked a little relieved. I pulled it off of her mouth regretting it afterwards because it looked rather painful.
"Sorry.." I began "Melanie what's going on?"
She shrugged, catching her breath again. I imagined breathing through her nose was becoming quite hard. "Sharon just dragged me from the office and pushed me into some dark car with blacked out windows. Jess, please tell me what's going on. I'm completely freaking out!"
"It's okay...." I reassured her, even though I wasn't sure how true that was. "Look, try and get yourself out of here Mel. I'll look around for my saviour...."
"Your saviour?" She asked, confused. "Was he the man that came in with you earlier. Wh-"
"I'll explain later!" I interrupted. There were more important things to worry about right now.
Melanie nodded giving me a small smile obviously understanding how distressed I was an left the room. I began scanning the room for him. It didn't take me long to figure out he was laying across the other side of the room. It looked like it was where I got up from. Perhaps that was the groaning sound.....
I ran over to him and shook his cold body. Christ, was he dead?
Please, no!
Please, no!
He sat up and I let out a breath of relief.
"What the heck is going on?" He began.
"Look, we were knocked out cold by... someone. I don't know exactly what's happening but Sharon and Joe have some sort of deal they are keeping from everyone...."
He nodded. "Right, I don't know my way out of here. Do you?"
I shook my head. "Guess we'll just have to look up to God and hope for the best."
He nodded, standing and taking charge. We hurried towards the doorway, neither Sharon or Joe were in sight. I wondered where Joe was. It wasn't like he would just give up so easily. Even if he was knocked out by Mr mysterious last night.
I thought of Melanie. Where the hell had she gone? Was she trapped again or did she make it out? When she left the offices why did the receptionist forget to tell me that she was dragged out. She certainly didn't mention that. My mind was consumed with questions.
The door was left wide open from Melanie's departure. Outside of the door was some sort of long hallway. It reminded me of a school corridor. Shuddering, I looked left and right searching for some sort of trap. Both sides seemed to be clear.
"Which way?" He asked, his bright green eyes piercing into me.
I didn't even have to think about it. "Right, I don't trust left."
He looked like he wanted to let out a chuckle but he kept it to himself. "Right." He grabbed my hand and we darted down the right side of the corridor. We ran to our hearts content feeling so free but also feeling persecuted under the accord of our own free will. Well that was how I felt anyway. I didn't know about him. I couldn't read him. Heck, I didn't even know his name.
We made it to the end of the corridor where we saw another door ahead of us. It was wooden and had small splinters sticking out of its rimmed, carved corners. I pressed my ear up against the door. He watched as I gestured for him to listen in.
"What do you expect me to do, just forget about the deal? I've been working with Melanie's father on this for so long and, oh, what's his name? Jess' dad. Jeez, I thought I got rid of her a long time ago. She's completely useless. She can barely make a cup of coffee besides control a major fashion corporation. I would let her take charge just to let her get off of my back for five minutes if this wasn't a massive scam. Where the heck is Joe?"
"I don't know!" Exclaimed a voice that I had only heard once before. When I was knocked out. The sudden memory made me shiver. "He didn't come back last night. Where do you think he went?"
"How am I supposed to know you idiot! He's been-"
BOOM. The door flew open and hit me in the face, forcing me to stumble backwards and wince in pain. Sharon stood on the other side of the door, her eyes widened. How did you get out?" She looked like she was demanding an answer.
"Run Jess!" Exclaimed the mystery man that seemed to be on my side. I ran down another corridor descending from the first corridor and darted to my hearts content. The corridor lights flickered on and off. Questioning the next step of the way.
That was when I heard a gun being loaded.
Oh my god!
I continued to run, looking behind me to see mystery man following me. He swivelled from one side of the corridor to another as a gunshot went off.
What the hell?! Are they actually shooting at us?
He was much faster than me and he must have realised because he picked me up. I looked back, not even thinking that I could have gotten shot and saw Sharon standing cross armed next to a man dressed in black. He held a shotgun to his face, aiming for us. Sharon didn't look impressed.
"Shoot them you idiot!" She demanded. A bullet flew past us. I tried to catch my breath knowing these could be my last moments. I closed my eyes, praying. How were we going to get out of this?
