A/N: Hey guys, I can't believe we're almost at 1000 reads. I tell you what- if we get to 1000 I'll update the story twice in a week. 1K would be an absolute miracle. Thank-you to all of my supporters out there!

This chapter is dedicated to @arthena123. She made the cover of this story and it is awesome! :D Thank-you! :)

I just stood trying to justify what just happened. Joe was at my the front door. The man who I once rowed with, the man that I once went on a date with and the man that once shot me in the shoulder. Remembering the memory I shuddered, feeling a sharp sensation of pain rooting in the tip of my shoulder.

"Run!" Exclaimed Mr mysterious. Melanie didn't hesitate and hurried out the back door but I stayed, facing Mr mysterious.

"I'm not leaving without you...." I said.

He looked somehow pleased but also furious at the same time, "I said run Jess, now!"

I was about to disagree again but the front door flew open and there stood an overconfident Joe with a gun in his left hand. I gasped suddenly, leaving Mr mysterious with a rather shocked facial expression. Joe had another smirk on his face. Just another creepy glare that would always remind me of his betrayal.

"What do you want?" I asked angrily, taking a step in front of Mr mysterious. I'd really grown to like him these past few weeks. He'd been a saviour to my downfall.

"Well, I would tell you what I want Jess but that seems a little too obvious" he stated.

How was that obvious? What the heck did he want?!

I scrunched my nose and shook my head. "Actually Joe, it's not clear."

My heart was racing, I don't know where the confidence came from. I could have gotten shot at any moment but at that point the only thing that was important was the truth (and Mr Mysterious and Melanie of course).

Joe raised the gun and fired a shot. As the bullet swept through the mystified air I had never felt so alive. A sense of realization hit me, like the pounding of a drum or the crashing of waves. I closed my eyes and waited for the bullet to hit me. I didn't even move- I didn't have enough time.

Seconds passed slowly and I began to question my own intentions. Why hadn't the bullet hit me yet? Surely it should have been travelling through my ribcage right now.

I opened my eyes to see that Mr mysterious was ahead of me, sprawled across the flooring. I screamed and knelt down beside him attempting to identify where the bullet had hit him- the leg. He couldn't move, he just whimpered in pain. I knew I needed to do something before Joe shot him again.

I couldn't actually believe he jumped in and took that shot for me. I would always remember him as a hero- my hero.

I thought up a plan in my head and swiftly turned and used my leg to kick the gun out of Joe's hand. He gaped at me as he realised what I had just done. I picked the gun up from the floor and held it to him.

Of course I wasn't going to actually shoot him, I just needed a distraction.

Melanie was long gone at this point and I was beginning to question how handy she was with this whole mission thing. I put the gun in the pocket of my jeans and lifted Mr Mysterious up bridal style. I could hear footsteps from behind me and Joe emerged from behind me and grabbed me, lifting me into the air. I used my elbow to bat him away and I ran with Mr mysterious.

We got to the back door when I heard several voices behind me, jolting as if the owners of them were moving around. I took the gun out of my pocket and turned around in one swift movement trying to juggle the injured stranger whilst trying to act all macho and alpha male (even though I'm female).

I came face to the one, the only Sharon Sharline. Her bright red hair was curled, each wave was bouncing off of her shoulders. She looked a little like a Bond girl. I kept my eyes pealed for Daniel Craig but I couldn't see him anywhere. It was sort of a shame- at this moment in time an autograph would have been awesome!

She smirked evilly and I retorted by shuddering.

"What do you all want?!" I asked rather frustrated with her games. "Do you want revenge, do you want to hurt me? What is it that you want Sharon?"

Sharon walked closer towards me. My heart ran a marathon. My head span and the walls felt like they were closing in on me. I had a sudden spur of claustrophobia. It was crazy- I felt so many different faults at the same time. I was defenceless.

She slid the gun in her black boot. It took me a little longer than expected to realise she wore a diamond coated, red, pearly dress. Why was she so dressed up? "I see you are rather oblivious to your 'partners' past. He hasn't exactly been a saint Jessica!"

I shook my head, "I know what you did to his family. You killed his mother and his little sister Jenny. Why did you kill them Sharon?"

She looked a little shocked but regained her normality. "I didn't realise he told you so much Jessica" she gestured to Mr Mysterious who was still in my arms. I struggled to hold him but managed to retrieve my wandering strength. "He knows fully well why I killed them. It was his fault. He knows why" she smirked "don't look so shocked Jessica. You can probably tell by now that everything isn't rainbows and sunshine. In fact" she removed a dull silver video recorder from her pocket and played a video. I gasped. My father and sister were both sitting in an enclosed room, tied to wooden chairs. I was so shocked and out of place I accidentally dropped Mr Mysterious from my arms. I leant down to lift him but I couldn't regain my inner strength. Instead, I just stood, doing nothing but watching as his gunshot poured with blood.

"You wouldn't!" I demanded gritting my teeth.

"Oh yes we will!" Exclaimed an extremely familiar voice from the doorway. I turned to see.... Melanie?

Oh. My. God!
