RWBY: Erebus.

Chapter 7: Last Fight

I try to crawl to my weapon. Ruby sees me and puts her foot on my hand. "You've been defeated, accept it!" She shouts loudly. I try to pick myself up off of the ground. Yang kicks me back down. "Didn't you hear Ruby, you're defeated, accept it." Yang looks at me with disgust. I speak with a voice not my own. "You girls think that killing me will win you this battle, I control Erebus completely, the only way to get rid of me is to destroy this body, but that would kill Erebus too." I laugh at their dismay.

I wake up violently. I check the time on my clock. 2:45 am. I look at Piper next to me. I run my hand through my hair. I still had my ponytail holder in. I get up and head into the bathroom. I look in the mirror. Dark rings have formed around my eyes, streaks of white have found their place in my hair. I turn on the faucet and wash my face. "What have I become?" I've asked that question for the tenth time now. I shake my head. "Am I truly worthy of being a father, if I can't even control my own mind?" The question that had to come to light. I breath deeply and look at myself once more. I saw a Faunus that has worked his whole life for something with no meaning, I see a man who is fighting a war inside himself, and above all else, I see a man who has survived through hell and back, just so he could keep his wife safe from his world. I sigh deeply and hear Soft footsteps. I turn off the faucet and rub my face with a towel. I look at my arms. My fake arms, not mine, made in a lab, not my mother's womb. I feel soft arms wrap themselves around my waist. "Erebus, you will be an amazing father, you just can't see it yet." Piper kiss my neck. She runs one of her hands through my thick blonde hair, that now reaches my waist. I turn around and look her in the eye. "You can't see that I'm becoming a monster, can you?" I ask her. She looks at me with tears in her eyes. "You will always be my Erebus, my knight in blackened leather, you will never become anything different." She struggles through the last few words. I hold her closer and kiss her forehead. I lead her back to bed and lay her down. I stroke her hair and rub her rabbit ears. She calms down and falls back to sleep.
I look out the window and see Cinder outside, near the tree line. I walk outside and go to her. "What do you want?" The question hung in the air. "To give you one last chance, leave that pitiful group of people, join me and we can rule all of Remnant." She adds flare to the last part. "He won't be doing that anything soon, Cinder." I hear Qrow behind me. Cinder runs off into the woods. "Never leave without your weapon, I thought you were a professional, Erebus." He jokes with me. I walk back inside with him. "Why does she want you so badly?" Qrow asks as soon as we sat down. "Because I scare her." I half lie to Qrow. He nods and goes back to bed.
I slip into bed with Piper sleeping soundly. I fall asleep quickly.

I check the time 4:30 pm. He was late again. I hear the sound of a trigger being pulled back, then the sound of a .50 caliber dust round exit the barrel of a sniper rifle. I activate my semblance just before the bullet hits me. I grab it out of the air and deactivate my semblance. I use one of my other semblances and see the sniper 500 meters away. I use yet another Semblance and teleport behind him in an instance. I pull out a knife and stab the Sniper in the neck. I wipe off my blade and return to my previous location. I sit down at in a Cafe and order a Mistral Coffee. "What leads do you have, Erebus?" Sun asks. "Nothing solid yet, go lay low for a little while longer, I get you what you need." I tell him and he walks away. I finish my coffee and return to my ACC.(Active Command Center). I look over the files on new Dosiers. I stamp each one with a rejection stamp. The newer assassins don't fit the bill. Some are too new, some are too confident, some make the mistake of double crossing me. I radio back to Ruby's location. "Alright, Sun's been redirected, contact later." I dismantle the radio and pack everything else up.

"If there was anything else, I would have told you, Cinder!" I strain against my restraints. "You're quite obidiant, for a prisoner, What are you hiding?" Cinder puts the blade into my stomach. Blood rush from the wound. My vision turns dark and I pass out.

I wake up in an old warehouse. I look around and see nothing but dust. I stand up and stumble around for the exit. I find a door and open it. I was still in Atlas. 'What happened to me.' I ask myself. I feel time stop, the sky blackens and I see the mysterious man again, this time his eyes are glowing green. "The different souls in your body want control, your body itself is fine but it's your mind that suffers from this sudden personality shift." He tells me. I shake my head. "What day is it, how long has it been, what's going on?" I shout the questions at him. "Start using more Aura power, that'll weaken the other souls, second, don't forget." He disappears and time resumes. "There you are Erebus," I hear Blake Behind me,"everyone's worried about you." She looks at me and tilts her head. The other souls start filling my head with false memories, I try to fight them but it hurts so much. I grab my head and scream, I fall to my knees. "Erebus, what's wrong?" I faintly hear Rubies voice. I feel a hand touch my cheek, I open my eyes. Piper was right in front of me, saying something that I couldn't understand. I try to focus on her but the other voices in my head were too loud. My vision blackens. I hear sounds of battle, screams, and I suddenly feel very tired. I feel a familiar hand on my neck holding me up. I get slammed into the ground.

I wake up in bed, back at the safehouse. I try to rub my face but my hands are handcuffed to the bed. "You're finally up, What the FUCK is wrong with you?" I hear Qrow next to me. My vision is still blackened. I hear a voice other than mine speak from my mouth. "The Erebus you Knew is gone, I am Ares, and you will bow to me." I try to break this mental prison. I hear sounds of fighting, screams of pain, I feel Pipers hand touch my face lifelessly. I start try to break down this prison in my own head. I hear Ruby's voice. "You've been defeated, accept it!" She shouts loudly. Next i hear Yang. "Didn't you hear Ruby, you're defeated, accept it." I speak with a voice not my own. "You girls think that killing me will win you this battle, I control Erebus completely, the only way to get rid of me is to destroy this body, but that would kill Erebus too." I hear laughter and I pass out.

I feel a hand on my face. I jolt awake in a desolate place, it looked like hell. "Hello Erebus, you're you again, I want to talk." I hear a woman's voice from afar. I look around and see someone with white hair, their back was turned to me. I stand up and walk to her, stumbling along the way. "Who are you, what is this place?" I ask her. "I am Salem, this is my home." She says not turning to me. "Why am I here?" I ask her. "Good question, I would have gone to you." She says but looks to the sky. "SHIRO, come to me!" Salem shouts. The mysterious man appears silently, right next to me. Only I noticed. "I thought it be fine bringing him here, my Queen." He says in a bone chilling voice. She waves a hand to the side, Shiro takes off his hood and mask revealing long Bleach White hair and gray skin. "Don't call me Queen, I no longer need your help, Shiro." When Salem said that, Shiro stood up straight. "Then I will take back my assets, I can't have this fight unfair." With him saying that, he put a hand on my shoulder. "Fine, I need you." Salem says quickly. "Wise choice, you wouldn't have wanted to fight me after cleansing this world, though, look at the time, I have places to be." Shiro said that and disappeared into a portal of darkness. I pass out from Exhuation.
