Epilogue: The Blank Check

Piper mixed a drink for a patron. Nova was waiting on some tables. One of the patrons' started getting graby with Nova. "Come on, lady, I just wanna fuck you." The patron nearly shouted that last part. Piper heard the patron and rushed over to the scene. "What do you think your doing?" Piper asked the patron with a motherly anger. "Oooh, the whore mother is here, how about the three of us have some fun." The patron tried to grope Piper as he spoke. "How about you leave before your nothing but a blood stain on the floor." Qrow's voice was loud and drunken. That didn't stop the offender, he tried to grab Nova. Qrow grab the patron by the neck and slammed him on the ground. "Now get out!" He shouted at the patron. The patron crawled away and Nova gave Qrow a hug. "Thanks Uncle Qrow." Nova had a voice that was naturally pleasing to hear. Qrow blinked and nodded. The three of them return to the bar and Piper gets Qrow a strong drink. Qrow reached for his wallet but Piper shook her finger. "After all you've done for us Qrow, you don't need to pay for drinks." Piper was kinder than she used to be. Being a single mother for 17 years took its toll. "Well I can still leave a tip then." Qrow growled and put a 50 on the bar. Piper took the money and put in in a jar labeled "Huntress fund". Nova goes back to serving drinks to the tables. "Can I just say Piper, I never expected a bar called "Night God's palace" would do so well." Qrow gave what he thought was a complement. Piper smiled and nodded. "Erebus had more friends than I thought, and I never expected Ruby to endorse the place." She took a deep breath. The door slammed open and two female figures walked in. It was Ruby and Weiss. They both sat down at the bar next to Qrow. "Hey Aunt Ruby, Aunt Weiss, how are you!" Nova rushed over to the bar and hugged both of them. "We're doing fine, Beacon still has its problems though." Weiss answered Nova, her voice was tired yet happy. Ruby smiled at Nova, Nova looked exactly like Piper, with a few exceptions, Her Faunus ears, her eyes and her hair, were from Erebus. Qrow pull out a slip of paper and handed it to Piper. "Erebus is dead, but I still need to pay him for a certain job." Qrow talked with Piper. She looked at the number on the check. Tears formed in her eyes and waved Nova over to her. Nova looked at the check and squealed. "I can finally get you to Hunter's school." Piper was crying now, Ruby and Weiss cheered for Nova. Jaune walked in with Ren and Nora behind him. Jaune sported a full beard. Ruby fills Jaune in on what just happened. Jaune cheered for Nova. Ren and Nora started talking with Nova on what weapon style she was going to study. Nova took a deep breath. "I plan to study them all." Piper heard her and shed more tears. The whole bar went quiet though as the door slammed open and a Faunus appeared. He was wearing a black trench coat. He had cat ears, Blonde hair, and Saphire eyes. He looked like Erebus. Piper took a step back, the others pulled out their weapons and pointed them at the man. "I am Percival Alabaster Natchingale's brother I wish to meet him." His voice was the same as well. The group headed out with the man to a lone grave in Northern Vale. The grave was a plain Cross, no name or other identification. The man knelt next to the grave and placed a hand on the grave. "Hello, brother, so sad that we had to meet this way." He whispered under his breath. "I never knew him, what was he like." The man asked. "A hero." Ruby told him. The man nodded and walked off. The group returned to the bar and held a congratulations party for Nova. The day after the party Nova started training with Weiss and Ruby. The training lasted for a year. Nova joined Beacon Acedemy and still helped Piper with the bar. They never saw Erebus' brother again.
