I arrived at my class on time. It felt strange walking in by myself without May.
The teacher was sitting at her desk. The desk was neat and tiddy, and she had a enormous binder on it.
She looked up at me.
"Oh! Hello! Are you Emily...Larrnie?"
"Yes. Nice to meet you, Mrs..."
"Call me Mrs. Dew." She smiled.
I liked her already
The class all stared up at her, and were standing up. I noticed a few of the "Bun Girls" we there. I cringed as they looked my way.
"Alright, so I have a signed seats," Mrs. Dew said cheerfully. Some of the boys grumbled. I looked over.
There he was, Evan. Right there in the group, looking lost.
"Ok, so I need.. Carlie Johnson, here..." She pointed to a chair.
I took note of who Therese people were and what there names were. I glanced at Carlie. She was a Bun Girl, her Long blonde was placed perfectly in a bun holder.
"I need Josh Uni here..." She pointed at the seat next to Carlie.
The other Bun Girls chuckled as Carlie started to blush and motioned the other girls to stop.
"Emily Larrnie here..." Mrs. Dew said.
I gulped...but went and sat by In front of Carlie. I tried to avoid their stares but the earge took over. I peeked. Carlie and I locked eyes. Her glare could make anyone melt. But the way she was glaring at me wasn't the evil glare of a popular girl. I could see worry.
She continued calling certain people to their new seats. There faces filled with joy or disgust .
I just sat quietly, trying to avoid the looks of anyone.
"Alright welcome everyone to your first day of school, I'm Mrs.Dewarel, but you can call me Mrs. Dew" Her smiled lighted up to the room.
"Moutain Dew..." Josh snickered. Carly blushed and chuckled softly. I smiled. For some reason I always love the thought of having a boyfriend. It wasn't a must, but something I wish I had.
Josh noticed me. He smiled and I blushed. His smile could make any girl melt.
"Today were going to fill out a All About Me sheet." Mrs. Dew annouced. "Anyone want to help pass them out?"
I raised my hand quickly.
"Ah...Emily. Come on up."
I jumped out of my seat. I would do anything to get away from the stares of everyone. She handed me the papers and started to pass them around. Every one was either chatting or staring straight at me. I avoided any eye contact.
I passed the papers around until I came to the last person.
"Thanks." I looked up. It was Evan. The whole world stopped.
"Uh...Your Welcome." I stuttered.
He smiled, and I blushed. I caught hold of my emotions and walked away.
"Alright, thank you Emily." Mrs. Dew said. "Please fill these out and put them in you drawer, Period 1. Everyone turned their heads. I winced. For some reason it felt like every one was staring at me.
I grabbed my pencil out of my pouch. I sqribbled down the answers as fast as I could. I was so nervous.
"Hey...Emily is it?" My heart stopped. I looked up. Carlie was staring straight at me..
"Where you from?"
"Quitan." I mumbled.
"Quitan!" Josh butted in. "Thats like 2 hours away!"
"Yeah." I said.
"Hey," I looked at Carlie. "If you ever need anything, don't hesatate to ask, 'kay?" She smiled.
"Sure,ok." I smiled.
The class period went fast. Josh, Carlie, and I chatted, both ask I g me questions about my hometown. I told them about Amy and all my other friends and about my old school. I felt so happy to talk about my old life to someone. Carlie and Josh listened and were accepting me.
"If you want to you can come sit with me and my friends at lunch!" Carlie asked. "There all really nice.
"Yeah. I sit with them. There alot of fun." Josh nodded.
"Wow! You all sit together?" I asked.
Carlie nodded. "I invite people over all the time. But usually they don't want to because of Maci." She chuckled.
"Yeah, no one would want to set foot near her." Josh agreed
"Why? Is she...."
"Alright everyone, please turn in your papers. You have about a minute  and a half before we have to go."
"I can tell you later ok?" Carlie called behind her.
"Ok." I called.
I grabbed my things and walked out the classroom, happy to have new friends.
