Hey guys! This is my first story on Wattpad so be easy on me! Feedback and suggestions are greatly appreciated! I hope you enjoy (oh! This is set before they know who the Darach is)

"Avalon! Wake up! You don’t want to be late on your first day!”
I groaned in annoyance as my father’s words woke me from my sleep. You would think that he would delay my schooling for one day so we could bond after not seeing each other for 4 years or at least let me overcome my jetlag, but nope. Here I was having to wake up early and get ready to attend a high school that was already a quarter of the way through the year. If high school wasn’t enough of a curse, being the new girl would certainly make things worse. Especially since my mother had only packed me “the greatest designs for teens from my new line”. I’m going to stick out like a sore thumb. I don’t remember much about Beacon Hills, but I don’t remember people wearing bright colored skirts and heels to school, which is what I was now cursed with until I could go out and buy normal clothing.
“I’m coming!” I yelled back, rubbing my eyes as I began my morning routine. Unlike my mother, it didn’t take an hour for me to be ready for the day.
‘The fashion queen of France must always look her best,’ she would always say.
“You look so beautiful, I’m going to have to fight off lots of boys this year, aren’t I?” my father complimented as I walked down the stairs.
I couldn’t hold myself back from rolling my eyes. Did he expect me to look exactly like the pudgy little t-shirt wearing 12 year old that he had said goodbye to that day in the airport? I have changed a lot since then. “Thanks, just like mom, right?”
My dad didn’t respond to my sarcastic remark. Mom and Dad didn’t really talk about each other much after the divorce. They both stayed their separate ways: Mom making billions of dollars in France, and Dad staying in Beacon Hills to run his old book store. “I can drive you to school if you’d like. Just to make sure all the paperwork and stuff is filled out. It’s even on the way to my store!”
I shook my head at him. “Can I just take the Hummer? You haven’t sold my baby, have you?” I offered, filling with concern at the last question. Who knew what he had done with all the old belongings I loved.
He tossed me some keys from his back pocket solemnly. I felt a pang of guilt. What was he expecting? He sent me to high school right off the bat; he couldn’t get back this time with just one car ride. “It’s in the garage. Please be careful and just stop by the store and tell me about your first day. I love you, remember that,” he told me, kissing me forehead like he used to do, but this time he didn’t have to bend down.
“Thanks dad, love you too,” I muttered, grabbing my bag and hurrying out the door.

“Here you go Ms. Edwards,” the Beacon Hills high secretary said, handing me my new schedule. “Your first class is English with Mrs. Blake. Just go down the hallway, take a right, and it’s the first door on the left. I’m sure someone would be glad to help you to your other classes.”
I nodded slightly and thanked her as I walked down the empty hallways. Well this was certainly going to be awkward, just walking in on the class.
