Greetings and Girl Time

I turned around at the sound of someone’s voice. As I looked for who possibly have said something that creepy, my eyes landed on a pair of (not unattractive) twins and…

“Danny!” I exclaimed, running up to the now tall, very muscular boy and giving him a hug. Though I could see some obvious changes in Danny, he still had the same face that I remembered seeing everyday as a child. It was hard to forget the face of your best friend.

“Avalon! You look….like a girl!” Danny exclaimed in return, teasing me, but also being quite honest on that comment. Wearing tshirts and keeping my hair tied back all the time didn’t really show off a girlish figure.

I rolled my eyes. “Thanks Danny. Who are your friends?” I asked turning towards the twins on either side of him.

“Oh! Avalon, this is Ethan, my boyfriend. Ethan, this is Avalon who was my best friend in middle school,” Danny introduced. I gave the boy a smile, and nod, then looked to Danny to introduce Ethan’s I-assumed brother. “This is Aiden, Ethan’s straight brother.”

“Pleasure to meet you, and sorry if my comment about Beacon Hills scared you. There’s just been some strange occurrences around here. It’s not really the poster town for normalcy. But of course, it’s not normal for a pretty girl like you to be wandering these halls,” Aiden smiled flirtatiously. Sure, he was cute but all I could focus on was what he meant by “strange occurrences”. What was so strange about Beacon Hills?

Before I could respond, Lydia pulled me back over to the first group I had been talking to. I could honestly say I was relieved by that. Not that I don’t love Danny, but there was something off about those twins. “We’ll talk about THAT comment later,” Lydia huffed towards Aiden.

“You may want to stay away from those guys, Avalon,” Stiles warned me. “They’re trouble.” I raised one eyebrow, waiting for an explanation, but after a few seconds of no response I gave up on that.

“So, um, could you guys help me find my next class? I really have no clue where I’m going,” I shrugged, looking towards the group. I made eye contact with Isaac, breaking it quickly once I felt my cheeks turning a deep shade of red. I twirled the end of my hair, a nervous habit I should probably be over by now.

“I’m sure one of the guys could help you, I have to get my books. You should come over to my house after school. Allison and I will be having “study/girl time”. It’ll be fun,” Lydia offered.

“Am I invited?” Stiles questioned eagerly. “I mean I’ll listen to all your problems, and I’m a pretty impressive pillow fighter.”

Lydia rolled her eyes, “Keep it in your pants, Stiles.”

“Sooo, please tell me that your ‘girl time’ isn’t like what Stiles was describing,” I asked hopefully as I walked into Lydia’s house with her and Allison. It was exactly like I remembered it: huge and full of stuff that I was going to be very careful not to break. Plus, her bedroom was as gorgeous and Lydia-like as ever.

“Of course not, but we are going to talk,” Lydia replied, with her signature mischievous smile playing on her lips.

                “About….?”

                “You.”

I looked at her quizzically. “Why about me?”
