“So what was your punishment for bringing more testosterone into his household?” Avalon joked as they got a few streets away from her house.
“A thorough survey to assess if I was a good enough companion for you. Does he do that often?” Isaac replied, laughing a little as he thought about it. But as he thought more about the whole ordeal, the more he was surprised he didn't faint or have a panic attack in the middle of Avalon's floor. That had been the first time he had ever met a girl's parents. Well, one that he liked at least.
Avalon laughed and shook her head. “No. He's just been saving that up for all those years I was gone. You just ended up being the first person on the receiving end of it. Besides his bedroom walls I mean.”
Isaac laughed, feeling a bit better knowing that he had the honor of being the first guy to meet her dad. The words 'what about your parents?' kept ringing through his head the entire ride. He felt bad for forcing Avalon to potentially lie to her father. He had put the weight of a lot of different lies on her shoulders, and one about her boyfriend didn't sound like another thing to add to the pile.
“And here we are!” Avalon announced as they pulled into the parking lot of the park. From the lot you could see the little playground set up for little kids, a dog park, and a walking trail. “Don't worry, we have a bit of walking to do before we get to where we're going.”
Isaac nodded and quickly got out of the car, racing over to the other side of the car to open Avalon's door before she could do it herself.
“Chivalry isn't dead I suppose,” Avalon commented with a smile. She jumped out of the car and grabbed the basket from the back, locking the car before turning back to Isaac.
“So where are we going to do it?” Isaac asked innocently.
Avalon laughed a bit at the hidden innuendo that she assumed Isaac hadn't noticed. “Well I was hoping somewhere more romantic than a park, but I did bring a blanket if you had your heart set on-,” she joked.
“That's not what I meant,” Isaac interrupted, his face turning a light shade of red.
Avalon patted his shoulder teasingly. “Sure ya did,” she commented before continuing forward toward their destination without another word.
Isaac rolled his eyes and followed her lead somewhat reluctantly. His heightened senses but it awful crossing across the playground, but once they reached the trails it was almost relaxing. He could hear the wind as it blew by, even if it was just slightly. He hadn't noticed until then that the area's cherry trees were already in full bloom. He used to notice those kinds of things not more than a few months ago. It was easier to notice the beauty of things when such darkness and pain was always surrounding you. It was amazing how much you could miss when Supernatural events consumed over your schedule.
“And here we are!” Avalon announced gesturing to the clearing that they found themselves in. It gave a perfect view of the blue sky above them, yet the trees seemed to still cast light shadows all around them. “I know it's not much, but-”
“It's gorgeous,” Isaac muttered, spreading out his arms as if trying to soak up every piece of sunlight that was falling through the trees.
Avalon laughed a bit as Isaac closed his eyes and stayed in his Titanic-like position. She shook her head a bit as she took out an old blanket from the basket and placed it on the ground. She sat herself down on the soft fleece and watched Isaac. She knew Isaac was attractive, but damn he looked good. It was nice to see him so relaxed. It was hard to find him with such a soft expression on his face nowadays. The light was hitting his hair and face so perfectly as well. It was like looking at a Greek god.
