I stood there staring at my reflection, barely recognizing myself. It was 7:00 in the morning and I was out most of the night. My brown curly hair was a tangled mess, my make up was smeared and smuged all over my face. My caramel skin was blotchy especially around my cheeks. The dress I was wearing was way too tight and barely covered anything. "What am I doing?" I said to myself.

I went into my room to take a hot shower and try to forget the events of the night before. When I get out of the shower, I put on long fuzzy pink pajama pants with hearts all over and a matching pink tank top. I sit on my bed and turn on the TV. I flip through the channels but I don't find anything that interests me. I live in a small one bedroom apartment. My bedroom is small and bear except for the Christmas lights I put up above my bed and the big wooden K I put under it. I stare up at my celeing trying to remember what it was like before Sasha died.

Every Friday night we would have a girls night. We would watch movies and eat junk food and dance around to music in our pajamas. She was my rock. Whenever I was feeling sad or stressed, she was always there to cheer me up. I miss her. As I think about her, I allow a tear to leave my eye. I quickly wipe it away. I sit up and head to the kitchen to find something to eat.

My shift at Jessie's, the local coffee shop, starts at 11. I tried to get a quick nap before I had to leave but my eyes couldn't seem to stay closed for longer than 3 minutes at a time. I put on my uniform that consisted of a black skater skirt, a long sleeved red shirt, tucked in, my name tag, and black combat boots. I look at myself in the mirror for a minute. I put on some mascara and eyeliner. I grab my purse and jacket and head out the door. It's a 10 minute walk from my apartment to Jessie's.

My job at Jessie's is good. It pays well and the people there are really friendly and supportive. When I arrive, my coworker Lizzy is already there hard at work. Smiling brightly and genuinely at the customers. She has bright blue eyes and and wavy blonde hair that goes just a little bit past her shoulders. She reminds me of Sasha in so many ways. The second I started working here we hit it off instantly.

"Hello my Caramel Frappuccino" Lizzy says smiling. "Hello my Lizzy bear" I say. She calls me her Caramel Frappuccino because when I first came here she said that my personality was sweet but sassy....like a Caramel Frappuccino. She was always so sweet and kindhearted. I couldn't help but love her. I put my jacket and purse in the back and I come out and take over the Cash register. "Hello, sir. What would you like today?" I say with a smile. The man standing before me stood over me at a height of about 5'10. He had brown hair that was swept slightly to one side. It looked like he was going for the "I woke up like this" look and it worked for him. His skin was olive and he had deep green eyes with a cutting jaw line and broad shoulders. He's been coming here for about a month, every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and occasionally on Saturday mornings. "I would like a cinnamon roll and a large hot chocolate please" I put his order in. "That will be $6.37" I tell Lizzy the order as he takes out his wallet and swipes his card. I hand him his receipt but before taking it, he looks me in my eyes and says "Thank you Krista. Does anyone call you Kris?" It takes me a second to realize what he's saying. How does he even know my name?!? Oh wait...my name tag. "Yes sir. If calling me Kris makes you happy, you may call me Kris. The customer is always right, right?" He chuckles at my awkwardness and says "My name is Joshua but my friends call me J." Finally a name to that beautiful face. "Nice to meet you Joshua but you're kinda holding up my line." I say. His cheeks start to turn bright pink "Oh. Right." He says and walks quickly over to the pick up line.
