The Andersons live on the outskirts of town. It's a 10-15 minute drive depending on traffic.
"You look really nice." I say to her. I glance in her direction because I don't want to take my eyes off the road. "Thank you" she says shyly. From what I could tell, Krista is a fairly confident person, it's unlike her to be this shy. "Are you okay?" I ask genuinely concerned. "Yeah...I'm fine...umm just a little nervous I guess."
"Ohhh...you have nothing to worry about. We're gonna have fun I promise."
"Okay." She seemed to calm down a little. A couple minutes later she was completely fine and she was telling me a story about this one customer she had that ordered almost everything off of the menu and tried to eat it all by himself. We were so busy laughing, I forgot to tell her we were going to a kids birthday party. "Are we almost at the birthday party?" She asked. "Yeah.....Wait. How'd you know it was a birthday party?"
"Well...face paint. It was pretty obvious." She giggled.
"So you're saying I'm bad at giving hints?"
"No. I'm saying you're horrible at giving hints" she burst into a fit of laughter. I chuckled. "Whatever Kris."
"Wow, that was funny." She says while she sobers up from all that laughter.
I pull up in front of the Anderson's house. It's a fairly large house with a large backyard. They lived in the center of a cul-de-sac. There are a bunch of balloons ties to the mailbox and a faint sound of party music could be heard. I turned off the car and decided it was the right time to have the talk with Krista.
"Umm Kris?" I say and turn towards her.
"Yes."
"I have something to tell you."
"What is it?"
"I'm a Christian."
"Oh my gosh J. You scared the crap out of me . I thought it was gonna be serious." She chuckled. "I already knew that you're a Christian."
"You did?? How??"
"I'm could just tell. Now, let's get this party started!" She says while she opens the car door and gets out.
She is something else. I couldn't help but smile. I get out the car and head inside the house with her.
