After the song was over we took our seats. A woman by the name of Christine came up and greeted everyone. "Hello everyone. How are you guys doing." Again people replied with hoots and hollers. "Wasn't worship wonderful?" Everyone clapped. "Welcome to Life of Christ church. I'm glad you all have joined us today. We welcome all the first time guest and all of our family members. When you come here you can expect an atmosphere of love and family. Pastor Evan will be up shortly to teach the word after the announcements . Enjoy your time here and don't be shy, we're a family." She smiled and then the announcements played on the big screens at either sides of the stage.

As the announcements played in a video on the screens, I didn't pay much attention. I was fighting with the thoughts that were coming to my head. I hadn't had those thoughts in a while but everything seemed to be flooding back. "Hey. You okay?" J asked me. I smiled as best as I could and nodded my head. He smiled back and continued watching the announcements.

When the announcements were done, Pastor Evan came on stage. He was in his mid to late thirties. He was about 6 feet tall and had Caramel colored skin just a little darker than mine. He had on slacks with a dark white dress shirt and matching jacket. He had one of those microphones that go around your ear and rest on your cheek. "Good morning church family. I hope you all have had a great morning. I'm gonna pray and then we'll get right into the word."

He prayed and when he finished, he began to talk about God's love for His children. Pastor Evan said that it doesn't matter how bad we think we are or how many crimes we've committed, God will always love us and always had. He even said that God knew me even before I was born. "Thoughts of doubt and shame will try to come to your head. Constantly remind yourself of God's love toward you. Say it out loud when you can. Say 'God loves me more than I can ever imagine'." Pastor Evan said before ending. The entire time he was speaking I couldn't help but listen intently. What he was saying was so interesting and different from the things I've heard before. He prayed one last time and then we were dismissed.

Haley was fast asleep with her head on my lap. J began getting up and moving to stand in front of me. "How'd you like service?" He asked me. "It was good." I smiled
"I'm glad you enjoyed it. I was wondering if you wanted to come to my house for lunch? "
"Of course. I'd love too."
"Great. I'll introduce you to some people and then we'll head off."
As if on cue, Haley's parents came to get her. Her mom scooped her up and whispered bye before walking away.

J first introduced me to some of the older kids in his youth group. They were very nice and they were hilarious. I laughed so hard I was almost crying. Then we met some of his friends. There was one named Brian and another one named Shawn. Those two are his closest friends. Then we he took me to talk to Tori again. We talked a little bit about music. She talked about when she started playing and singing and what she loves most about music. She's so sweet and passionate about what she does. Finally we met Pastor Mickie. He was the assistant pastor of the church. "Hey Joshua. How's it going." Pastor Mickie said as we walked up to him. "Its going well Pastor Mickie" J relpied. Pastor Mickie was in his late twenties. He had brown hair and bright green eyes with olive skin and broad shoulders.
"Who is this young lady?" Pastor Mickie asked.
"This is my friend, Krista." J said. I reached out and shook his hand. "Hello Krista. How old are you?"
"I'm twenty."
"Wow. Do you like working with kids?"
"Yeah. I love kids"
"That's great. It would be such a great help if you could help with the kids ministry here."
"That would be great" I said with a smile.
"Okay. Have Joshua take you to see Linda the next time you're here and she'll help you out."
"Okay." I smiled and Pastor Mickie walked away.

We walked out of the church building and went into J's car.
