Baekhyun's POV:
"Baek you're always single," Jongin said, nudging my side.
"Probably because he can't seduce anyone," Kyungsoo chuckled, taking a seat across from Jongin.
"I could seduce anyone if I wanted to," I snapped.
"You couldn't seduce a squirrel," Sehun said, laughing at his own remark.
I rolled my eyes. "I can seduce better than you. Have you seen this sweet ass?" I stabbed the odd looking potato on my lunch plate.
"Oh yeah? So you think you can seduce Park Chanyeol?" Sehun inquired. He raised a brow and looked directly at me.
Someone scoffed loudly from behind. I glanced over my shoulder to find Jongdae approaching our table with a smirk, rolling my eyes as he took his usual seat next to Sehun.
"No one can seduce him," Jongdae said, running his hand through his hair before wiggling his brows at me. "He has no soul to seduce."
I stared Jongdae down. "I can," I stated firmly, trying to prove myself. I glanced over at the giant eating alone on the far side of the cafeteria.
Why is he always alone? He's sexy, so why doesn't he have friends?
"Fine. Then bet on it," Sehun said, drawing my attention back to our table. "If you can seduce him, we'll do anything you want. We'll pay for your lunch for a whole month. But if you fail, you'll have to do whatever we want you to, and you have to pay for all of our lunches."
I made direct eye contact with him."Deal!" We shook hands on it. Everyone seemed confident that I would lose, but I was going to prove them wrong.
The bell rang then, and I knew I had to at least try to sit by the giant. I headed to Math class and immediately spotted him in the very back. Alone. Taking a deep breath, I passed by my usual seat next to Kyungsoo and headed towards the back. Everyone stared at me with utter disbelief, but I just shrugged it off. I slid into the seat beside him, but the cold-hearted giant gave my presence no acknowledgment whatsoever.
"Hi, I'm Byun Baekhyun," I said with a smile. He glanced over with a frown that deepened as he turned away and started writing.
Well then, this might not be as easy as I thought.
I ran my fingers through my hair in frustration and began writing the notes that the teacher had written on the board. The bell rang shortly afterward, and I followed Chanyeol to his locker.
"If you plan on beating me up or taking my money, or anything else, just hurry up and get it over with already. I don't need any more petty frustrations," Chanyeol said as he began stuffing his books into his locker.
My brows knitted into a frown. "Why would I do that?" I asked.
He slammed his locker. "Considering all those times you and your friends have done it, it seems to be a regular thing for you guys." He began walking away again.
When did we ever do that?
I snapped myself out of my thoughts and followed the giant once again. Along the way, I noticed that as he walked down the halls, people either gave him looks of fear, or glares full of hatred and disgust, and I couldn't help but wonder: why?
When we arrived outside, he abruptly turned around and I ran straight into his chest. I stumbled backward, trying to sustain my rage and annoyance. I straightened my posture and looked Chanyeol directly in his eyes as he towered over me.
"You might think being rude and soulless will make me go away, but it won't," I growled, starting to get fed up. "You know, maybe if you were a bit nicer you might actually have some friends!" Realization struck me and I slapped my hand over my mouth, eyes wide.
I did not just say that out loud... Shit.
I saw a flash of sadness take over his stone-like gaze, but he turned around before I could confirm what I'd just seen. I stood frozen in place.
Dammit! Why the hell did I say that?!
I stormed back into the school, ignoring the questions coming in from every direction from my friends. I grabbed my bookbag and me high-tailed out of there. We usually got together over at Joonmyeon's house, but today I couldn't bring myself to care. All I could think about was how I had just ruined my first impression with the soulless, cold-hearted Park Chanyeol, and there was no way in hell I was about to let Sehun and Jongdae rub it in my face, thinking that I'd already failed.
I was almost home when I caught sight of Chanyeol's broad figure hovering over something from afar. I slowly made my way up to him from behind, doing everything I could within my being to be as silent as I could. I peered over his shoulder and saw that he was feeding a small, adorable orange kitten. With a soft chuckle, I crouched down next to him, causing the giant to jump and lose his balance, falling on his butt. The kitten mewed and jumped up into his lap, licking his face with its tiny tongue. I burst into laughter as he placed the kitten back down.
"What's its name?" I asked with a grin, putting the kitten's head.
Chanyeol gave me a look. "I haven't decided yet," he said, getting up to leave. The kitten turned towards him and started mewing loudly as he walked away. He stopped in his tracks and looked back. With a sigh, he turned back around and lifted the kitten into his arms before walking away from me once again. I chased after him, not planning to give up.
"Where are you going?" I asked.
"Anyway from you," he snapped.
My face dropped and I stopped in my tracks, growling in anger. I balled my hands into fists and stomped off in the other direction, stopping only to realize that Chanyeol was heading in the direction of my house. I grunted in annoyance and after a few minutes, caught up with him again, deciding to keep my distance this time.
"Stop following me," Chanyeol said. He stopped and turned around with his typical frown plastered across his face.
"I'm not following you!" I shouted and stomped my foot again like a child throwing a tantrum. And maybe my eyes were deceiving me, but I could've sworn I saw a smirk form on his lips then. I blinked, but Chanyeol's so-called smirk immediately became his usual straight line of nothingness. I stormed off towards my house, leaving him behind this time but then turned back around the second I arrived at my door. He wasn't anywhere to be found. I whipped my head back and forth down the street, searching frantically until I saw his tall figure enter the house right across from mine. I titled my head and frowned.
When did someone even live there?
I decided to shrug it off and went inside. I dropped my bag by the entrance along with my shoes, because honestly, the ramen was calling my name. My stomach grumbled in agreement. I reached down and grabbed a pot, flipping the stove on as I poured my ramen in and prepared to cook.
After finishing up, I escaped to my room and decided to go to sleep early so I could catch up on some rest. As I laid in bed, wide awake, I couldn't stop thinking of Chanyeol and everything that had happened.
Did he really smirk? Aish, I'm crazy... Why doesn't he have any emotions? Why does he have no friends? Why is he so good looking? Dammit. What did I just get myself into this time...
The thoughts soon faded away. My eyes drooped, and soon enough I fell into a deep sleep.
