Mackenna's Mom POV
"Yeah, they just had to give her a shot, but she'll be fine." I told my husband, Carter into my phone. I was just driving back home since Mackenna had to stay another night for testing tomorrow morning.
"I hope she is. That little boy will wish he was never born if I ever lay eyes on him. What he did to Mackenna was just plain foul! Nobody deserves that!" Carter raised his voice.
"Hon, look. It's okay, he-"
"No it's not okay! It's always okay with you. Kenna didn't need to experience nothing like that! Nobody does! And those kids she calls friends didn't do anything about it, they just sat back and watched like nothing was going on." He yelled.
"He had a gun! What were they to do?! They were just as scared as Mackenna!" I yelled back at him.
"Like he was gonna shoot." He scoffed.
"He was drunk, what do you expect? He didn't know what was going on either! He'll wake up the next morning totally clueless as to what went on!" I yelled to him.
"That still ain't no excuse to him rapping my daughter. I'd rather go to hell and back than that to happen to my Mackenna." He said calmer.
"Look I understand this is hard for you because this is my daughter too!" I hissed. I gripped the stirring wheel tighter to keep me calm. I sighed. "Look, this isn't a good thing to do while i'm driving. I'll see you when I get home."
"Okay. See you." He said then hung up. I pulled my phone from my ear and threw it in the passenger seat. I ran a hand through my hair.
"Everything will be fine. Everything will be at peace once again." I whispered to myself to help me calm down.
But was everything really going to be 'okay'?
Kenneth's POV
I kicked one last book shelf before flopping down on my bed. I was still angry at myself for not protecting Mackenna. I should've just came up with a plan to help her. She was rapped by Dustin and it's all my fault.
I sighed as I sat up to look around my room. I had completely wreaked my room. Book shelves were tipped over on the ground with books scattered all around, my pillows were tossed in different directions of my room along with my dresser and clothes that i'm pretty sure some are ripped. But I don't care.
If Mackenna was my friend, why didn't I protect her? Because i'm a horrible friend and friend chooser. I mean, couldn't I tell that Dustin was a little on the creepy side? But no, stupid ol' Kenneth still shrugged it off and befriended him.
I face palmed. I'm so stupid. I'm so stupid that I don't even know i'm stupid, and it doesn't take eye sight to see that. I groaned. How will I ever live with myself knowing the horrible thing I did?
I groaned louder this time. School comes back tomorrow! Everyone will know! Hopefully her mom and dad let her stay home for at least a week or until all the talk dies down.
I heaved a sigh and dragged myself to my bathroom to take a shower to calm me down and also because I stink. I stripped my clothes and stepped into my shower and put on the hot and cold water. A warm shower will probably relax my muscles a little bit more rather than a hot shower.
But it didn't. I thought about Mackenna even more. I washed my hair and my face and stepped out from my shower. I quickly got dressed and and went my nightstand to grab my wallet.
"Shit." I mumbled. I tossed it somewhere in my messy room. This day just keeps getting better. Now I have no drivers license, no debit or credit card or money. I kicked my bed in anger.
"Oww!" I sucked in a deep breath a held my foot in pain. I winced under my touch and decided to just walk it off. I limped downstairs and into the living room passing my mom in the kitchen.
"What's wrong Kenneth?' She asked noticing my limping.
"Oh, I just hit my toe. I'm fine." I lied and began to walk away.
"Kenneth, you weren't in there acting a mess again were you?" She asked, eyeing me suspiciously.
"Umm...no?" I lied.
"Kenneth! I told you about doing that! Now you're going to want to get new furniture!" She yelled.
"Look mom, I can-"
"No Kenneth. You can't do anything. I'm over it."
"Mom, I-"
"Nope, no excuses."
"Mom! My friend just was rapped yesterday, what do you expect me to be all happy and giddy about it?! It's my fault that happened to her anyways and I hate myself for it!"
"Kenneth King Christopher Walters, if you say another word I will make you sleep outside." She said eyeing me seriously.
"I understand why you are mad, but that doesn't give you a reason to wreak things and think it'll be okay!" My mother yelled. "You're wasting my money when you do that! But you wouldn't care, you only care about yourself! When do you ever consider me, your sister or your father?"
"I don't give two shits about that bastard! He never thinks about me so why should I care about him?!" I yelled. By now my eyes were rigid. Why in hell would she bring that stupid excuse of a father into this?!
"Kenneth! Watch your language!"
"No! You're always telling me not to do something, but you're no better your damn self! Keisha's already bad so why do I have to keep on trying to set an example for her? She clearly won't listen to anything I say! We don't give a fuck about anybody but ourselves. Why? Because you made us like this!" I yelled pointing an accusing finger at my mom.
"You made yourself this way! Don't you dare put this on me! You're out here getting laid and partying the night away and you're saying it's my fault?! I'm not the one sleeping with every chic that passes my way because I actually know how to control myself!" My mom yelled.
"No wonder dad left you." I spat at my mom. That was a dumb move. I should've never crossed that line. But she crossed that line with me, so I don't give a fuck about her feelings as of now.
My mom gasped and hit me hard across the face.
I immediately felt my jaw clench and my fist ball. I looked my mom in the face. Before I could do anything that'll probably send me to jail, I headed for the front door.
"Fuck you and everybody else in this house!" I shouted before slamming the door behind me.
I was feeling nothing but complete rage as I got into my car and sped down to the nearest bar.
Time to relax is all I needed right now.
