Chapter 7: Injured

I cough and sputter blood. The CCG has found me, and I was as good as dead in this state.

"I finally found you, Kumo," The man that has just stabbed me said.

I drop onto my knees. I couldn't be killed this early, I won't let it happen! I still have to avenge my parents, and Yumi!

I fall onto my side. I feel a few tears well up in my eyes, but I hold them back. I try to get up, only to fall back down. I clench my stomach, as if it would make the pain less, but it only made it worse.

The man behind me snickers. Just as he brings his quinque up to my head to finish me off, he stops.

"Wha- Hey!" I hear him yell. A few seconds later there are cries of agony and blood spurts onto me.

By then, my vision has started to get hazy. I wasn't healing fast enough, and if I didn't heal soon I would die from the blood loss.

"We need to get her out of here!" I hear another mans voice. He seemed younger, probably my age.

"Alright," another man replied coolly. I feel arms scoop me up and I look up with blurry vision at someone with light orange hair and dark orange eyes, I think his name is Kain. As my vision starts to fade out, I see another man behind him, Aido, with a distressed look on his face. Then, I black out.

"Please! Stop!"

I wake up in the nurses office, my head throbbing with pain. Why wasn't I in the hospital? I try to sit up, only to have a sharp pain in my stomach, and I wince.

"Hey, don't try to sit up! Are you alright?" I hear someone beside me say.

I turn my head to look at him. It's Aido.

"Y-yeah, I'm fine," I reply, adding "I thought you hated me though."

"Well, I couldn't just let you die," he says.

"Well, uh, h-how did you know where I was?" I question him, a little suspicious.

"We smelled some blood while we were out. We followed it to you, that's about it," he replies, but I feel as though he is lying.

"Ok..." I just say simply.

"I would like to ask you though," he suddenly says.

"Y-yeah?" I ask.

"What did that man mean when he called you Kumo?" He asks, and I stiffen up, making my stomach hurt a little more.

"I, uh, I will tell you about it later," I just say, I really don't feel like talking about it.

"Hey, you should get some sleep," he says.

"NO!" I almost yell at him, and he looks startled.

"I, uh, sorry, I can't," I say.

"Uh, ok, I will leave you alone then," he says, puzzled, as he leaves the room.

I sigh and look up at the ceiling. It was dumb of me to leave the academy like that, I thought I would be fine.

My wound starts to hurt really bad again, and I hold it tightly as if it would stop the pain.

I slowly sit up so it would hurt less, and swing my legs over the side of the bed to get up.

I place on foot down, trying not to hurt myself standing up. I need to eat, it will help me recover. I wonder how far my room is from the nurses office.

As soon as I stand up, all the pain comes onto my stomach. I resist yelling out in pain. Nothing is worse than the pain and despair that Jason has brought me, though.

I slowly open the door and peek out, making sure Aido or anyone else wasn't there. I open the door more, making it creak a little. I slowly walk out, a lot of pain in my stomach, and I try not to cry out.

I find a window and look out. The moon dorm is right next to this building, to my luck.

I jump out the window, thank goodness it was on the first floor. I cry out in pain when I hit the ground, only to cover my mouth to make sure nobody heard.

I reach my room. Halfway here my wound started to bleed a little, and droplets fell on the floor. This isn't good, especially for a dorm filled with vampires. I half run into my room, which hurt a lot.

I open a bag and grab the leftovers. I eat them up, and my Kakugan activates. I try to stop it, but it won't.

I drop to the floor, my stomach hurting worse than ever. Maybe this was a bad idea, but I needed to heal.

I crawl onto my bed and hold my stomach. The bleeding has stopped, now I just need to heal.

I wonder how long it will take for them to find me here.
