It's only raciest if it's offensive or hurtful. "Making fun of" should never be used in this case because it's basically saying "I WAS JUST POINTING OUT SOMETHING ABOUT YOU THAT YOU RATHER IF I DIDNT AND BEING AN ASS ;)" or something along those lines!
SAYING A CHARACTER IS BLACK IS NOT RACIEST YOU IDIOT.
It's more raciest saying it is. Why? Because you won't let me show that this character is actually something other than a white cracker (and literally almost no one finds "cracker" offensive anymore and if they do I'm actually sorry than!) ANYWAYS saying a godsdamn skin color is not raciest and I wish people would either say it is or acting like it is! Ass bitch SHUT THE HELL UP
Making jokes on it?
Is it offensive? Is it going hurt someone emotionally or mentally? Is it actually not funny to everyone involved and others? ARE YOU TRYING TO BE AN ASSHOLE AND INSTEAD OF FUNNY?
If you answered yes to any of these few questions than STFU. If not than be careful because tasteful humor is very hard and I think the people that actually manage are super cool.

Let's see. Is the girl crying for good reason? If so that's a no. Is the girl character super weak and always helpless? Yes? Sexiest? Maybe. Now, no one is always strong or helpful but if it is always like that. Than very much, yes! Boys don't cry? LIES!!! Girl crying because she was made fun of her looks? No. She's not full of self or anything. Being made fun of can hurt a lot and if they have low self esteem than yeah it's okay for them to cry. Having them feel nothing over it makes the whole thing kinda pointless...
Hear me out now, if you want maybe a deeper character than make the girl or boy or other- person -by them saying "oh, it doesn't fade or bug me or anything" to everyone but it actually does hurt them, it shows they aren't perfect on the self esteem. Which no one really is. It can show self help.
When someone says they're okay but they actually feel bad. So they decided to help themselves. Not by makeovers. Those are clichéd and actually really stupid. "You're beautiful how you are but let's just change this and this and oh this must leave"

"No you're beautiful now let me change everything about yourself"

ANYWAY, they can either help themselves get better or have others help them. Team work or some bull shit. Just make everyone have the quality they should get. Also, GENDER EQUALITY IS IMPORTANT AND GENDER ROLES/GENDERING EVERYTHING IS STUPID.
Have a problem with writing a character?
Look at characters that are similar to the one you want to write. For example, trickster? Discord from MLP is a good one or the Stroll brothers (are they brothers, I don't know. I'm sorry) from Percy Jackson.
Tricksters are my favorite type of characters, personally. They tear down your world and show you what's really important.
Mad man? The Joker.
Look for characters that fall into the type of character you are trying to write and learn from them. Know the basics before you tear them down. Be original.
Don't know something?
Search for it online! Information is everywhere! Don't know how many shots a person can take without dying and where? LOOK IT UP! Everyone knows something and have probably already put it online for your looking minds!
