Broken Ties

Chase's P.O.V

I sat on my stairs in pain from what happened earlier. I don't know what hurt more the fight between me and Ryan or what happened between me and Paige. I can't believe she sided with her brother instead of me.

 I regret everything though. If I had just ignored Ryan none of this would've happen, but if Ryan had just left things alone Paige wouldn't have had to make a decision and we'd still be together.

 Paige's P.O.V

* 2 weeks after the break-up *

It's been already two whole weeks since Chase and I broke up. I see him in the halls at school and he goes the other way. I try calling him and he sends me to voicemail. I ask his friends about him and they ignore me. I tried going to his house to talk but he's never around anymore.

Ashlyn and Kyle have been trying to help me and make light of the situation but they were no help. Ashlyn immediately started trying to set me up with guys from our school three days after I ended things with Chase. That sure was considerate (note the obvious sarcasm).

Kyle just told me to get over the whole thing and kept talking about how he never like Chase. Which got him punched in the chest by Ashlyn for being inconsiderate. She honestly can't be judging anyone for being inconsiderate though.

Don't even get me started on Ryan. He was the worst out of all of them. He's never once come up to me and asked me: "Hey Paige, are you feeling any better? Or even done the simplest thing and just said: "Hey Paige, I'm sorry things didn't work out between you and Chase is there anything I can do to help?"

Nope. Nada. Not a single sign that he honestly cares that I'm obviously heartbroken. No all he cares about is: sports; himself; his girlfriend Alisha; and if I'm staying away from Chase.

I don't know why Ryan's being such a jerk lately. I mean I did break up with Chase when both of them were obviously in the wrong. Yeah, I mean Ryan is my brother and family does come before anything.

 On the other hand Chase was the first guy to ever truly like me and even though we only dated for a little while I know what we had was real. But now its all over and I just can't believe it.

I wonder if he still likes me. I really should stop thinking about Chase it's obvious it's not gonna bring him back to me.

"Paige?" Ashlyn's voice sounded interrupting my thoughts.

"Ashlyn, let her think why don't you guys come back later. Paige clearly still needs time to herself," Ryan suggested.

"But we want to help her!" Ashlyn wined pouting.

"Ashlyn, maybe Ryan's right. You've been trying to get her to tell you what's wrong all afternoon and she hasn't even did anything to acknowledged either of our presences." Kyle mumbled poking the side of my head.

"Kyle, she's been like this all week though! I've never seen her so gone. It's like she's gone," She sighed.

"Would you two just shut up and leave my sister alone. Last time I checked she's my sister not your's. I'm her brother I'm pretty sure I can handle this," Ryan said interrupting their annoying arguing.

"Well you certainly haven't been acting like a brother to her," Ashlyn glared standing up and crossing her arms.

I sat still on my floor staring at the bottom of my desk with my cheek resting on the palm of my hand. I had been laying down on my bed earlier before Ashlyn and Kyle arrived, but I somehow managed to find myself on the floor.
